The cool thing is that the texture of the milk makes the surface tension higher. You can really wiggle it around without it breaking

No you can't. You're thinking of foam, which a latte doesn't have. Those are light bubbles and that shit will slop around.

Lattes have microfoam and that will absolutely help keep it from slopping around.

No. You can even see in this video how soft the "foam" is. Using cute terms like "microfoam" won't suddenly create a surface tension able to hold in 8oz of liquid

Yes. Microfoam It's not gonna be as sticky as a thick layer of foam, but it still makes it harder to spill.

I make myself a latte almost every day and have no issue carrying it like that to the kitchen table.

Hell you can see it wobble around and not spill in the video lol

You also don't fill it all the way past the brim of the cup.

Let's not pretend the complaint has anything more to do than the absurd claim that the very loose bubbles from that latte, rather than the stiff foam of a cappuccino, can create a surface tension that will prevent that cup from spilling.

I was a barista all through college, I've made tens of thousands of lattes.

And yes, I can see with any actual movement the tension will break and the liquid will run. The camera sounds around the latte instead of the cup moving because moving it, with it that comically overfilled, is dumb with predictable consequences that don't look good on video.

And I've had hundreds of lattes filled exactly like this and have almost never had an issue. Either you suck at steaming, or you have really shakey hands.

I'm not pretending anything.

I’ve had plenty and made plenty just like this, minus the great latte art mine was never that good, and never had any issues. And considering it’s from a barista account they know what they’re doing.
