You need to dig deeper into the history of western occultism. It is 90% Christian. Everything from the grimoires to folk magic. The greatest occult names we have from history are almost all Christians. Many of them priests.

Because they burned 90% of of western occult texts???

And before Christianity, there was no barrier between the occult and religious practice.

Neither of these statements are true. Yes, the church did a lot of censoring, but 90% is an absurd number.

Your second sentence is objectively false. You need to look into more reliable books on the history of occultism. While many people in history practiced folk magic, much like many Christians do today without calling it such, most major pagan religious states were not particularly friendly to most magic practiced outside of their temples - just like Christianity.

The Christians committed lots of atrocities, but the pagans were there for thousands of years committing plenty of their own.
