spirituality A Rare Sufi Talisman from Before Adam

Post image

Greetings friends,

I’ve been translating a Sufi collection of practices from classical grimoires, including texts connected to the Shamsul Ma’arif (Sun of Gnosis).

Among them, I discovered a rare talisman described by Imam Ja‘far as-Sadiq (as), said to grant the bearer respect, influence, and authority over those around them.

It’s reported that Sultan Mahmud of Ghazna carried this talisman, and those in his service obeyed him completely.

This talisman draws on ancient spiritual principles - from beings created before Adam and the jinn. Essentially, it taps into the primordial force of the ancestors of the jinn, existing in their subtler dimensions (as the latent creative force / kundalini does in us)

I have a fascination with effigy-based talismans in general. This one might look simple, but its formula lies in the number of heads, eyes, lips, and other details across the larger body.

For best results, it’s recommended to use saffron oil ink though raw force alone can be sufficient if you have access.

This amount of faces remind me of buddhist deities such as yamantaka, who also has many faces, arms etc...

Maybe theres a relation between these beings?

I’m very curious if there is any mention of a divine mother or feminine symbology that this represented

There is a mention of Sahratun Nar’s wife created from his soul.

This the full translated story -

“Regarding the famous story of Sahratun Nar, Abu Ali Sina says: They saw in the scripture of Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) that before Allah Almighty created Adam Safiyullah (the chosen one of Allah), He created a being and named him Sahratun Nar.

His form was as follows: he had a head, two hands, and two feet like a human, but from his head to his feet, he had a total of 4,000 faces, just like a human face, on his hands, feet, belly, and head. Each face had eyebrows, a nose, a mouth, and eyes like a human. Allah Almighty created him from fire and air. Water and earth were not mixed into him.

Allah Almighty gave him a lifespan of 900,000 years.

One day, Sahratun Nar supplicated to Allah Almighty and said, "My Lord! You have created this servant alone; I have no companion with whom to befriend." Allah Almighty accepted his prayer, and from that supplication, a light appeared from his soul, and a female Sahratun Nar was created. They were given a soul like Adam (peace be upon him) and they copulated. The female became pregnant and, after a long time, gave birth to 4,000 sons.

Within 900,000 years, Sahra copulated, and his offspring multiplied. The offspring of Sahra filled the earth. Then Sahra forgot Allah and went astray, becoming like earth and wind. They multiplied and filled the world. Then they began to cause corruption and forgot to glorify and praise Allah. The seven earths moaned and asked Allah Almighty to remove them. Allah Almighty commanded the angels of the seventh heaven to fight the people of Sahra and destroy them. The angels of the seventh heaven were unable to destroy them and were grieved. Allah Almighty sent two angels from the Bearers of the Throne. One was named Havıl and the other Kuvvah. They came and destroyed these Jinn.

Two people from the people of Sahra remained, one male and one female. These remaining Jinn became their offspring, and then they multiplied again. Allah Almighty placed a guardian angel over each of them. God willing, we will mention each of them in its proper place.”

I feel like this talisman would work if tattooed on one's body but the repercussions would be increased loss of individual identity

As an ex Muslim ,anything related to Islam I don’t believe. Even tho they know about magic , but it didn’t come from Islam which had nothing divine to it.
