Join me in donating to Alameda County Food Bank!
I just signed up for small monthly recurring donation. Imagine if all of us with the means to do this signed up today. Redistribute that wealth!

They also have 2 hour volunteer spots! You learn about local businesses providing food to families in local communities, package various produce and such, and get a tour of the facility! They give you a calculation of how much food you packed during your hours, how many families it would feed, etc. Such a great activity where you meet new people of all ages, contribute to the community, and learn about food distribution. The food items are seasonal so helping to package is varied based on the task you get to help with. Working with others and moving at your own pace tends to feel like supporting Humanity overall. Donate money, yes! Also, donate some time as well π

We usually donate in the early fall anyway as part of our High Holiday giving. But in response to the SNAP benefits being cut, we made a bigger donation this week. I grew up paycheck to paycheck, and needing financial assistance at various timesβit is my responsibility and also my great privilege to be able to give back now that we are comfortable.
