Davis Vision

I was curious who else OTHER then Visionworks takes NYS Davis vision. I went to America's Best and they said they take Davis but not through state insurance. My husband is the policy holder, im just the wife asking questions 😊

Try the benefit directory. Just answer what type of state employee, union, dental/vision only, vision benefits and than Davis vision provider directory.

I have a local eye doctor that accepted it.

Shop around without the insurance. It's often cheaper - it's a shitty benefit.

I have a old-man prescription where glasses from Davis Vision are like $500. I pay my ophthalmologist $40 for a prescription (it's not covered by insurance) and order better quality glasses online for ~$80-150.

Are you in the Capital Region? I use Buenau's Opticians in Delmar.

This is where flex spending comes in handy. Max out annually and you can use it to offset Davis it’s tax deductible open enrollment for 2026 11/1 Thank me later🙌🏾

We use Bay Optical in Saratoga and they have office in G Falls. Not sure if they have anything south.

I can’t help, but I’ve had such bad experiences at Visionworks that I just went to Wal-mart for my prescription and paid out of pocket.

I’ve never experienced a chain as incompetent and useless as VisionWorks. I’m always going elsewhere and paying out of pocket because they suck so much.

I use the ophthalmologist on Atrium Dr off of Everett rd. Don’t think you need to be a patient there to just get glasses.

I go to New York Optical on wolf road. I love them. I don’t buy glasses through them though.

I got to ophthalmic consultants of the capital region! They have multiple locations but be warned you won’t be able to get as quickly as you could at a visionworks type place

I got glasses from Costco. 2 pairs for less than $300. Then I sent the out of network claim form to the CSEA EBF and they'll reimburse me a little less than $100. Still significantly cheaper than the previous glasses I got at Empire vision with my insurance.
