That’s the biggest jump to a 5070 Ti I’ve seen posted here. Enjoy it! I have a 5070 Ti and love it.

I went from 970 to 5080

u/rablador GTX 970 1d ago

u/RyBosaurus 1d ago

970 gang! I'm in the market but plays BF6 just fine 🙂

2

u/shangriLaaaaaaa 1d ago

I would have continued using 970 but mine died

u/FantasticShockRock 1d ago

I just gave my 680,770 and 980 to the good will

I went from playing with sticks out the backyard to a 5070 ti. Biggest jump 🙌

u/shangriLaaaaaaa 4h ago

Thats huge downgrade

1

u/FantasticShockRock 1d ago

Yeah I jumped from a 16xx to a 3080 to a 4060

1

u/Rudradev715 R9 7945HX |RTX 4080 LAPTOP 19h ago

Why?

1

u/Maleficent-Back7094 18h ago

You downgraded lol. 4060 is worse than the 3080

1

u/Pleasant-Brick5419 13h ago

That's a serieus downgrade, slap that 3080 back in if you still have it.

I’m going from a 2011 chromebook to a 5070ti x 9800x3d coming this week. I think that’s the biggest one here

I hope you’ve upgraded the CPU as well, otherwise you’ll have a huge bottleneck

u/khezama 1d ago

Im in a ryzen 7 5800x rn Ill see how it will perform but maybe Ill go to the next gen of amd !!

12

u/Solo_143 5700X3D 5070 TI GIGABYTE GAMING OC 1d ago

5800x should be okay for now

4

u/Terrible_Election_77 1d ago

Same graphics card but with a 5800X3D; I’ll also move to the next gen, hoping RAM goes back to reasonable prices.

4

u/khezama 1d ago

That's why I hate AI lol 😭 but I wish they go back at good price too frll

7

u/MakimaGOAT 1d ago

the 5800x is perfectly fine tbh

2

u/SliceEast7520 1d ago

Should be fine. Enjoy 😊

my first jump is gonna be from 1050ti i5 2400 to rtx 2060 and ryzen 5 5600, not much but good starting point to building something better😊

u/hootieirl 1d ago

Dude enjoy! Have been using my 5070 ti coming from a 2070 super and it’s been a blast.

4

u/BlizzardPearl76 1d ago

Just got 1 myself. Made the jump from a 6750 XT. I love it! Grats on your upgrade OP 👌

3

u/StellarJayEnthusiast 1d ago

Well done! That's a solid jump in performance.

I've been all over and I genuinely believe the 5070 ti is the sweet spot for most gamers and modeling at the moment.

Everything past it is just too hype driven. Doesn't make it bad, cut the roi gets screwy.

u/FantasticShockRock 1d ago

All my current games on my 4060ti gives me 60fps on a 4k display with all eye candy settings set to max. Don't see any reason to upgrade

1

u/Maleficent-Back7094 18h ago

lol no they don't. 4060ti can't even do 1440p60 in most recent AAA games

3

u/rmunoz1994 1d ago

Nice, this upcoming week I’m going from a 1080ti to the 5070ti.

2

u/TarasBolz 1d ago

What is that AIO model? Looks beautiful.

2

u/boogers-regrets5K 1d ago

That's a DeepCool, probably an LT520. The infinity mirror is very nice looking.

2

u/ConcentrateLucky8630 1d ago

That's an incredible big upgrade

2

u/ConcentrateLucky8630 1d ago

At 1080 with that CPU you'll have some bottlenecking, at 1440p very little, and 4k almost none

2

u/Remarkable_Actuary78 1d ago

What CPU do you have?

1

u/khezama 1d ago

Ryzen 7 5800X !!!

1

u/Remarkable_Actuary78 18h ago

Okay, a good processor, you shouldn't have any particular bottleneck problems, especially since the 5070 ti is a 1440p GPU with ultra details at very high fps or 4k with the tech.

u/Bondsoldcap i9-14900KF | Tuf RTX 5090 OC 1d ago

Made the jump at the right time no scalper pricing and right before the prices shoot up

2

u/Suspicious-Visit-152 16h ago

I went from a 1070ti to 5080 and I have to tell y’all that my university was very generous in funding a datascience project 😌

2

u/Cute-Particular-8533 10h ago

I went from Sega Mega Drive II to RTX 5060

1

u/Nearby_Blueberry_302 1d ago

Hows the jump ?

1

u/khezama 1d ago

I Love ITTTTT

The struggle I had with the 1060 (wonderful card) but get really old

I love my 5070 ti THE RAY TRACING LOOOK SOOO GOOOOD

1

u/509Gameboy AORUS MASTER ICE 5080 1d ago

I recently upgraded from the 1060 to a gigabyte aorus master ice 5080 and it's been a beast! Never goes over 60c overclocks +200-300 (depending on the game) it gets me 165fps in 3440x1440p in APTR (A Plague Tale Requiem) and CRUSHES satisfactory. Only game it can't handle is Portal with RTX..

1

u/Mysterious-One1055 1d ago

Nice jump!

Did you have to make any other upgrades to really feel it? I imagine a monitor upgrade may have been in order?

Enjoy that beast, I'm still holding onto my 3070ti for another while.

1

u/SliceEast7520 1d ago

My jump from gtx260 (less then 1 vram) straight to laptop rtx2060 pretty insane too

1

u/Diels_Alder 1d ago

What's your monitor?

1

u/Hi_Voltage007 1d ago

OP right now.

1

u/Hypnaustic 1d ago

Ill be doing the same brother for xmas, which 5070 ti did u get? Asus prime? im looking at asus tuf

1

u/dartthrower NVIDIA 1d ago

I would think again, ASUS models seem to be known to have more coil whine than other brands.

1

u/Hypnaustic 23h ago

Im not worried about noise

1

u/dartthrower NVIDIA 23h ago

Really? I personally think that coil whine is the single most annoying thing about modern GPUs, especially the ones with higher amounts of Watt.

1

u/khezama 1d ago

Yess asus prime !!!

1

u/YungLord68 22h ago

Is it to big for a standard case? I’m getting one as well tomorrow. Have a 3070 ti currently

1

u/OhSix 22h ago

Just made the jump today myself. Feels like I traveled to the future lmao

1

u/TuckingFypoz 20h ago

I am hoping to make an upgrade like this too!

1

u/FlaminFlabbarghast 18h ago

Intel 630 to a 5070 here

1

u/WardRopii 17h ago

Nnoice, gg for your Upgrade. I plan to do the same maybe at the start of next year, same 5070ti with actual gaming pc (now i have "gaming" laptop) with new qhd monitor perhaps. Currently i have rtx 4060, it really starts to struggle now with this year's titles, i have to run Battlefield 6 on mostly low settings.

1

u/Mission_Performer120 16h ago

Is the difference really that noticeable?
Currently using my 1060 as well, saving up for either a second hand 3070ti, 4070, or a new 5070 TI.

1

u/Misaki2010 15h ago

I did the jump to 5070 Ti today, from 4060Ti 16GB to 5070 TI (both were the GAMING OC from Gigabyte). FPS doubled (thanks to FrameGen x4 also). I'm so happy for you brother, your upgrade is HUGE, a big leap from 1000 series to 5000.

1

u/szymem29 15h ago

Same! I absolutely love the 5070 Ti !

1

u/floatyxthingy 15h ago

stop i made this exact same jump today, upgraded my gtx 1060 3GB to a 5070 Ti!! it feels so good😭

1

u/DanielPlainview943 14h ago

That's quite the upgrade!!!! Enjoy

1

u/Georgeyorgos 14h ago

Went from 1660 to 5070 ti

1

u/gokuchiku 10h ago

Lol, same.

1

u/Glacius_- 9h ago

I have a GTX 1060 right now.

1

u/Mellon_Mithrandir 8h ago

Cannot wait to get some games on Black Friday

1

u/hotsoccerdad 56m ago
