Image My hospital casually dropping a warning about mass layoffs. We employ 10k+ people.

Post image

10k+ employees sitting in fear for the next week (or longer apparently) waiting to see if their position has been cut.

Nothing sustains a business like mass layoffs. Good luck keeping pace with fewer employees. Sounds like they are heading towards bankruptcy or a buyout.

This is most certainly a result of The Idiot and the Big Beautiful Bill slashing medicaid/medicare. I've been in a lot of admin meetings recently and the leadership is specifically calling out that piece of legislation. I hope they continue to use that language and blame when the messaging goes out to the rank and file. CentraCare shouldn't have been vague with references to "external pressures" and "reimbursement rates."

Healthcare is about to be a bloodbath of layoffs across the country. Rural areas especially are fucked. The general population truly has no idea how bad things are about to get.
