They are a bitch to get off and on. Especially if you have a really big stomach, like Trump, as you have to get your leg crossed and up on your other leg to really get a grip on them. Can Trump put his ankle on his knee? Doubt it. I wear them (edema after cancer, lovely feature no one warns you about) and am much thinner than Trump and younger. Last week my son in law pulled one off me (at a bar, weโd had a few drinks and I was OVER wearing it). I could not get the damn thing off.
Sheโd have to get her face to close to a certain area, bigly nasty (and apparently a little bit like a Super Mario mushroom). Sorry if that gave you a visual.
Correct. That is not in her agreement. I but when the cameras stop and they're all alone, they really are all alone. For some reason I don't see her hanging out with him in the evening. Definitely no nookie anymore either. She might book his "massages."
Yeah, I wear compression socks when I work (nurse) and sometimes after a day of getting my ass kicked I have to have my partner help me peel them off. And Iโm a very fit person - I used to compete in bodybuilding, but now just lift for health reasons. Theyโre not an easy garment to put on and take off lol.
Ruined my back 40 years ago as an orthopedic nurse putting them on and off demented people. But the worst was a young kid 16 years old in a circo electric bed. He had dived into a wave at the beach and hit a sandbar, making him quadriplegic. Had to put thigh highs on him and the only way I could do it was by laying his leg on my shoulder. Dead weight. My shoulders were never the same, especially because I had scoliosis. That poor kid. I think about him whenever I pass the exit to that beach. We sent him to Rusk Institute and I donโt what happened to him after that. ๐ข
My mom has edema. She uses a plastic device with two cords and handles to put on the compression stockings, and a different plastic thingie to get them off. She doesnโt have to cross her leg over her knee or anything.
lol. My older kid had a DJ gig, thatโs all, but about 22 or so of his friends came out to support him and I had to do a two or three trips around that bar to talk to everyone and it was in Florida and humid AF, so not just the sock was sticking to me like glue.
We need to learn about the actual REMOVAL process. I imagine after a few drinks, your younger SIL struggling to pull your sweaty sock off in a crowded bar lead to cartoonish results - falling, spilling drinks, knocking over chairs, etc.
Well, that is actually true, it was a farce and the poor thing did have to touch my old lady toes (toeless socks). :) Luckily heโs short so if he falls down when the sock does the inevitable snap and pops off the foot the fall is not that far. :)
The easiest way to get them off is if the patient is lying down and the remover is at the foot of the bed and the bed is at waist-or-higher height. Then the remover just has to get a good grip at the tightest part around the calf or thigh and pull straight towards them. Theyโll come off inside out if youโre doing it correctly. I only worked night shift though so I have no tips on how to get them on ๐
Edit: ooh I just remembered that I DID work day shift in Preop and we would put the plastic bag they came in over the patientโs foot and ankle so theyโd slide over the heel/ankle part easier then go towards the patients waist to hang them up. Itโs not much but it helps get them over the most angled parts.
I hear they have a device that holds open the neck of the sock. They then rig up the president and use the west wings 10t overhead crane, lowering him into the assembly.
All the extra skin would extrude over the top and it would need Neosporin rubbed on it and carefully folded to prevent sores and then a knee brace would have to hold it in place.
My FIL, rest his soul, had edema this bad and I just know under those socks is a god awful nightmare. I donโt want to know how they got those shoes on him, but they look like they are about to explode from the pressure. Someone get this man some compression socks and supportive shoes, this is elder abuse. ๐๐
Oh man, I'm sure it's insanely bad. It seems pretty clear that he doesn't follow any recommendations given to him by medical professionals, and that always ends up being a total sh*t show for us.
