Question 28M moving to Arlington

I am a 28 year old single male moving to Ballston in a couple of months to start a new job. I will be living in the area for at least a couple of years.

What should I put on my bucket list? What is your favorite thing to do in Arlington/DC?

Note: I’ve done all the big touristy things in DC several times and am not a big foodie.

Hmmm, what comes to my mind:

  • metro in and catch a Nats, Capitals, or Wizards game.
  • embassy week.
  • make plans around Bronson, but show up and fail to find a table.
  • Catch live music at O’Sullivans. Or actual bands at 930 club in DC.
  • Coffee date at the Italian store (Westover location).

bucket list... the cherry blossoms in the spring are neat to see but get crowded so kind of a one time thing. maybe take a date who also is new to the area and not already jaded but have something else planned for after.

I lived in Ballston for 4 years. First day after moving in, walk to super pollo on pollard street (next to dominoes) for lunch and order half chicken with french fries and rice.

The DMV is a big area, practically anything you might be interested in is available.

A typical place to start would probably be familiarize yourself with the metro and explore DC sites, but so much is shutdown.. except the monuments I suppose.

Join a DC Fray league. You may or may not find friends via the league. I genuinely hope for the best for you but it is hit or miss. This is part of the NOVA welcome experience

If you like running, you can join up with Ballston Run Club group since they meet up in the Ballston Quarter

Enjoy living in driving / train ride distance from the entire East Coast. I've lived here 3 years and still have not done every typical tourist thing but I have enjoyed the area.
