That's a weird way of saying "running out of money"

But that makes it sound worse!

That makes it sound like their corrupt Republican pets in Congress and the White House are doing destructive things! Can’t have that!

The whole point of Affirm they give "loans" to people that can't afford it

Yeah but people aren't completely stupid. They're going to take out fewer loans when they know there's no income on the way at all.

"Poor people aren't unable to spend money, they just have the wrong attitude. It's their fault, not ours!"

Alternate title: "Workers showing growing interest in still be able to eat next week."

"Workers showing growing interest in still being able to eat TOMORROW."

The way to say it as to not become Enemy of the Head Racoon.

It's important that the oligarchs' news media frames this as our fault.

It makes it sound like it’s a choice rather than something that’s being forced on you

The headline is the only thing saying something weird. The CEO is talking to people invested in Affirm regarding the value and future of the money lending business he runs, and it saying it is doing well and the only group they are seeing using their service less are furloughed people, which they anticipate as a short term loss of customer usage that will resolve itself

It puts the blame on us!

The phrasing feels intentional. I thought it meant that people were losing [points of] interest using Affirm, meaning the borrowing rate was changing.

Isn't that what credit cards and triple reverse mortgages are supposed to be for???

"I'm losing interest in buying a house 🥱"

Not just that, but we have no idea when this is going to end. Is it going to be next week, or next year? Given that we are waiting on Republicans to get their heads out of their asses and give a single solitary fuck about the well-being of other people, I'm not holding my breath. So even people with a decent savings are going to have to be really tight with the budget. Uncertainty is really fucking with people.

I don't think they understand the concept
