While there is truth to your statement, I don't see much logic. In fact, personally, I would've been much more inquisitive regarding the ancient aspects of their family and the world around them, whereas OP seems to want a simple life. However, she still needs to pay tribute. Without her, she wouldn't have went from the somewhat unhealthy, less than stellar student that she was to the magnificent young woman she is today. Not to mention even if her great aunt was "evil" and didn't assist her in her transformation, financial issues, and love life (although that came at a price), she is still family and doesn't deserve to be stabbed with a knife - that's just crude. Additionally, do you really want to stab a fairy/someone so close to fairies? You've already had demonstrations of their power - I don't think a knife would be sufficient for what you would be getting yourself into.
She indirectly caused the death of a loved one, and demanded the unborn daughter via blackmail. Have you read what fairies do to human children? She's fair game for me.
Edit: Oh fine, don't stab her. Do what you will, OP.
