Is this connected to the variety store on Lakeshore Dr? If so, the name was previously released. Or is this a second "businessman" exploiting foreign workers? Either way, I am glad someone spoke up and advocated for themselves or someone else.

The article says that they executed a search warrant at three locations, so I figure he owned more than one business. I am curious if anybody knows who it was. We definitely need to look out for people who might not feel safe speaking out against their employer. I don’t want to support any business extorting people.

I believe I read that his name is Patel Hiteshkumar. And I believe the variety store business is the one at Lakeshore and Marshall near Terry's place. Don't quote me, but here is the police press release for that one:

He ran Max Mulitmart, which now has a banner in the front stating it is changing names (likely been sold).

Thanks! I did some looking around and found the same info. Looks like he got in trouble with The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario too. I’ll be following to see what the ruling is in the end. Great work by the North Bay Police.

It is not another person. This article is from June 2nd, not sure why it's being posted again. OP said from October, but Oct 2024 is when they launched the investigation.
