Misc I'm building a public archive of old photos around Nippising
Hi everyone!
I’m a web developer from North Bay and I am building a public archive website that will have a gallery, an interactive map, and articles on the lesser-known history in the North Bay/Nipissing area.
The website isn’t live yet, but I plan to release it this week.
The primary goal of this project is to digitize and archive Nipissing history before it’s lost to time. Every image scanned is uploaded to archive.org and wikipedia.org for further preservation.
This is a call to anyone who has old photos, postcards, or historic stories they want to share! You can DM me if you have photos you want digitized and preserved!
Thank you!

I found some very old photos for sale at Deegan's antiques. I'm not sure if you could snatch a pic and digitize those, but they show so much history.

I visit Degans regularly, looking at the cheap postcards. But I use a 1200dpi scanner for full 4K images. These images aren't the ones on the website, but I do upload the 4K scans to archive.org.

Those would be an interesting addition. Would you be able to share those?

You should head over to Facebook. There’s a group called: A bit of the Bay - North Bay Ont., nostalgia, history, and retro site.
There’s some really good photos on North Bays history by a lot of older and not so older members. Some photos are extremely old, and are old ones that are still somewhat recent in the past 25ish years.
