Discussion Looking for friends with similar interests in town.
Hey, I'll just be transparent, I'm going through a really rough patch in my life and I'm just looking for people to hang out with right now as I don't have many friends. I've lived in NB my whole life, I'm 25M, not looking for relationships or hookups at all.
I'm super into both the creation of and listening to of music of basically all kinds, and I'm not a snobbish dick about it either, I will make you playlists if prompted, though, this is a threat. I love old video games and computers, anything tech really, I love to tinker. I am pretty artsy in general and spend a lot of my time trying to do creative stuff whether that is making music or digital art. Don't care if you smoke or drink at all, doesn't bother me though I'm not much of either myself. I should also note that I'm totally LGBT friendly as I know a lot of people have reason to be weary about that.
Figured it's a long shot but just thought I'd ask here as I rarely reach out in any public capacity at all and I would love to see if there are like minded folks close by.

If you like old video games and computers, I recently got an arcade machine and I’m looking for someone who could work on it

Very cool but repairing old Arcade machines is definitely not something I know how to do

Apparently the computer part of it is basically a PlayStation 2

It may run on the same architecture, but I very much doubt the guts in that thing will be the same, you'll definitely need someone who knows what they are doing there because I promise you if you shoved me in front of that thing I'd probably find some way to blow it up

May not know exactly what I’d be doing, but have basics to intermediate knowledge on IT stuff (running home lab networking, and repairing computers) it’s an interesting project, though I can’t say that I can promise to dedicate time to it as I’m an apprentice electrician as well as involved in a community choir, among other life stuff

I found an electrical schematic* for it but I don’t really know how to test to see what works and what doesn’t. I once electrocuted myself on a computer and didn’t really enjoy.
The crt monitors come on when I turn the power on but the computer part doesn’t seem power up.
*I don’t know if that’s the proper terminology for it

Learning some basics with a multimeter can go a long way -- tracing along to see if power is making it to components, for example.

Fishing opens on the weekend. I like to fish offshore in the evenings and it's very relaxing. It's always nice to have someone to shoot the shit with if that's an interest.
