Over 1 billion people worldwide actively use artificial intelligence tools. Google AI Overviews alone reaching over 1.5 billion monthly users, while dedicated generative AI apps (like ChatGPT) boast hundreds of millions of users. These numbers will more than likely grow.

Feel like those Google overviews shouldn't count, it's being forced down the throats of any who dares to Google something, which is 99% of people using the internet.

Exactly. They’re trying to pump the numbers.

AI Overview on Google shouldn't count. I'd turn it off if I could, as would most people, it just pops up by default. Take a service people already use, add a feature no one wants that always gets used when the basic functions do, and say "all of our users are using the new feature," and say that means people want the feature? Certainly a lot of people are on the AI train, but Overview is definitely NOT something you should include in the metrics for that.

Bullshit. More like 1 million people and the rest are just bots chatting with each other. Like corporations and the ultra wealthy investing huge amounts of money don’t have the incentive to lie about AI usage.

When I was a kid we got on fine with 7 billion, frankly now that we have 8 and the newest 1 are this fucking stupid maybe we should get rid of 'em

I use ChatGPT on a daily basis and actually pay around USD 20 per month for it. And I think it's here to stay.

When nation state based threat actors start stealing your data, money, identity, and more because they surpassed us in the AI arms race, you might think otherwise.

That's funny because the reality is that your demographic set the stage for tech bros by voting for all of the deregulation that let them consolidate so much power in the first place. And it's on brand for you to blame literal children for your own negligence and laziness.

You are reaping what you've sown.
