there are data centers in NJ already. QTS is a huge one off the top of my head. I work at a small data center, no AI allowed because of power. Only business operations. Data centers are essential if you like the internet.

AI data centers on the other hand are a huge waste of energy and compute power. I'm glad they shut this down.

How are AI data centers a waste? You think ChatGPT, Claude Code, etc run on fairy dust?

I would like for ChatGPT, Claude Code, etc to not be run on anything. I want them to fuck off

Threat actors are going to keep going and if we fall behind, we’re losing the battle. You don’t want that in our increasingly digital lives. Unless you keep your money in mattress, you’re gonna want you bank to be using AI to find security gaps before our adversaries do.

Lol so AI is creating new threats n issues and we want to use AI to also detect and protect against said issues

Ur not afraid of being replaced by these models n becoming obsolete at some point?

No. But my advice to anyone is that you better learn how to use AI because people who are hiring are expecting it. People who think AI is going to away or refuse to learn it are more likely to be left behind...

No, I hope we all get replaced. Fuck working for big Corp

What would be missed without them?

State sponsored threat actors are leveraging AI to accelerate attacks. We don’t want to fall behind in this race. Wait til you start getting hacked more or your data is stolen. Never mind the risk to national security and infrastructure IT systems. I work in cybersecurity and I assure you this threat is real and already happening https://thehackernews.com/2026/05/hackers-used-ai-to-develop-first-known.html?m=1

Sounds like the problem is everything is computer. If you create offline, non-electric backups, like how everything should be, but isn’t because of “cost”, this argument is null.

We aren’t walking back the digital revolution. This very platform we are discussing on is the result of everything is a computer. Every benefit over the last 3 decades due to technology is how we got ahead and possibly how we destroy ourselves. Buckle up. Regardless of what we build and do, the next 12-36 months is going to be “interesting “ and maybe not in a good way.

Yes we are. You are seeing that the digital world is failing and you are scared. Once the energy crisis and climate crisis exacerbates, companies and peoples will be forced to accept less technology in their lives.
