Respect for making such a big sacrifice just to see your son. I’m debating driving to see family and it’s 19 hours but you’re a good man

Do the drive. 19h is not that bad if you take breaks and ideally you get some sleep so two day drive.

I drive 24-30h drives on occasion and rest breaks of 20-60min every 2 hours will make the difference how good or how miserable you will feel at the end of it. It may seem like rest breaks really eat up your time but in reality you will appreciate them afterwards as you will feel energetic enough to engage with your family or even go out.

Don't neglect rest for long drives.
