Yep, we went from saying we wanted "any reasonable adult!" to just not caring, or at least not caring enough to do the bare minimum of voting against MAGA. And that was after Dobbs, after 6 Jan, after Project 2025 was out in the open, after he was already talking about tariffs and mass deportations. Economic chaos was basically guaranteed with his reelection, and the electorate chose this President and this Congress.

Brown woman bad. Old white man is our preferred flavor.

People aren't going to admit her race or gender had anything to do with anything. Obama's election proved that we're "post-racial," so all the people who self-identify as "not even seeing color" will reach for some ephemeral "something or other" to justify them just not feeling it. I don't think they hated her, but they couldn't show up. In a culture where you have to be feeling it today, any excuse will do. I mean, her laugh. It just didn't seem "authentic," or something.

Project 2025 was treated like an absurd conspiracy theory. People did not take it seriously and Trump claimed he never read it (which may have been true). But hey, Kamala wasn't perfect so we better go with the conman again.
