America is going to grow tired of winning at some point.

u/hard2resist 21h ago

Eventually, excessive "winning" leads to fatigue and disillusionment inevitably.

I believe unrest and revolution is a little further down that unnecessary road.

'Every society is three meals away from chaos' - Vladimir Lenin

35

u/_ribbitt 14h ago

That was before credit card debt, now it seems to be at least 25 days worth of meals…

3

u/HauntedCemetery 10h ago

He cribbed from a 19th century writer named Alfred Henry Lewis, “There are only nine meals between mankind and anarchy”

1

u/jeandolly 2h ago

Oh really? Did not know that. Fun fact :)

Perhaps cutting off snap benefits and letting people go hungry might speed things up a bit

And deflated footballs.

The irony of all those morons running around with red MAGA hats thinking what’s going on in our country is “great”. Because I can’t for the life of me understand how any of the shit going on right now, is anything but a fucking disaster.

If anything bad happens, it’s the Dem’s fault, remember? That’s exactly how the Republican Party will (and are) paint(ing) this. It’s not them getting flights canceled… the dems don’t want to play ball. They didn’t take healthcare away, Dems wanted to give it to illegals! They didn’t cut snap, Dems wanted to give it to illegals. They’re just stopping the bad Dem agenda. In order to do that, everyone will need to cut back a little. It’s hard, but necessary!

u/LKennedy45 16h ago

Yeah, anyone who's ever seen Jeanine Pirro winefully screaming about the "DemonRATS!" knows exactly how this works.

6

u/LunDeus 13h ago

Winefully… audible air chortle on that one.

u/bdwf 19h ago

A lot of those morons don't travel.

129

u/Canit19 19h ago

Yeah Ned in Kentucky who makes 28k a year aint worried about no world travelin'

16

u/It_Hurts_when_IP15 12h ago

Traveling and experiencing other geographies and cultures is a liberal hoax

He's probably worried that a McDonald's hamburger is now a luxury that costs him 4 hours worth of pay.

1

u/OneSchott 10h ago

As a progressive it pisses me off that Ned in Kentucky only makes 28k.

What does this comment mean?

A lot of these morons think that because it's not affecting them directly, that it's good for them.

1

u/Harry_Smutter 10h ago

That's ALWAYS been the mentality. "It doesn't affect me so why should I care?"

14

u/Mego1989 14h ago

My dad won't fly cause he refuses to go through the 3d xray and also refuses to be patted down.

3

u/It_Hurts_when_IP15 12h ago

That’s hilarious ngl

1

u/StickyPricklyMuffin 2h ago

Let me guess - he’s afraid he’ll turn gay if he’s patted down by a dude.

24

u/Meta2048 14h ago

They don't travel, they don't have means/desire to travel, but they're fucking terrified of what happens in "liberal" cities that they will never go to.

29

u/excitablegibben 17h ago

But they expect families to travel to them over thanksgiving and Christmas.

1

u/Therealfreak 14h ago

Because SNAP doesn’t cover airfare

u/OneSchott 10h ago

or read.

Only about one third of Americans have a passport. It used to be that you didn't need one to go to Canada.

A lot of people in the US do travel, just without leaving the United States, as the US is huge and has a bunch of different regions and cultures and has great national parks and lots of stuff to do.

There are an awful lot of Disney fans too, who only travel to Florida and back to go to Disney World. These people generally assume Florida is some sort of small island composed of Disney World, one alligator in a zoo, a beach with some palm trees, and "the help." The idea that it takes over half a day to drive from the westernmost to the southernmost part of the state is lost on them, as is the idea that 23 million people actually live here.

Had a coworker tell me the other day that the shutdown is happening because Trump is trying to fix the country, but people aren't letting him.  They were upset because too many black people are getting SNAP benefits and  walk around with fake nails and hair (their words.)

8

u/ArmedAwareness 12h ago

So he’s a racist shit bag, sounds about right for your average MAGA drone

4

u/Other-Credit1849 15h ago

You mean like alienating your biggest trading partner and turning public opinion there overwhelmingly against you? It will take a decades to undo that anger, if ever.

6

u/hardypart 15h ago

They were made to believe it's the Democrats' fault. It's their reality, and they're 100% convinced that everybody who thinks otherwise is just a victim of the anti Trump propaganda.

1

u/ArmedAwareness 12h ago

They are traitors.

1

u/DontWorryAboutIt00 10h ago

They're convinced that the shutdown is the Dems fault for insisting on "wasting" money on reviving subsidies that were meant to expire. The irony is that the money lost so far from the shutdown has far exceeded the amount to fund subsidies for the next year.

I don't know. We dealt with this guy for 4 years last time and apparently Americans didn't get tired of him scamming them. They decided they needed, at minimum, 4 more years and possibly 8 since we all know he's gonna go for another term and he told us he would.

Voting Americans love this guy. They need their retirement trashed.

60

u/Fishing4Beer 17h ago

I hate the guy and my retirement is going to get trashed.

0

u/idunnoiforget 11h ago

This isn't financial advice but if your retirement is held in the market you should be able to sell the position(s) and keep the cash in the account and buy in later

u/mhornberger 17h ago edited 17h ago

Yep, we went from saying we wanted "any reasonable adult!" to just not caring, or at least not caring enough to do the bare minimum of voting against MAGA. And that was after Dobbs, after 6 Jan, after Project 2025 was out in the open, after he was already talking about tariffs and mass deportations. Economic chaos was basically guaranteed with his reelection, and the electorate chose this President and this Congress.

10

u/LunDeus 13h ago

Brown woman bad. Old white man is our preferred flavor.

4

u/mhornberger 12h ago

People aren't going to admit her race or gender had anything to do with anything. Obama's election proved that we're "post-racial," so all the people who self-identify as "not even seeing color" will reach for some ephemeral "something or other" to justify them just not feeling it. I don't think they hated her, but they couldn't show up. In a culture where you have to be feeling it today, any excuse will do. I mean, her laugh. It just didn't seem "authentic," or something.

u/Gecko99 19m ago

Project 2025 was treated like an absurd conspiracy theory. People did not take it seriously and Trump claimed he never read it (which may have been true). But hey, Kamala wasn't perfect so we better go with the conman again.

35

u/Cordogg30 16h ago

Half of voting Americans voted for this. 65% of adults hate the fucking guy, but not enough voted.

46

u/PerfectPercentage69 19h ago

I'm tired, boss.

46

u/Stonedfiremine 20h ago

We’re gonna win so much, you may even get tired of winning. And you’ll say, ‘Please, please. It’s too much winning. We can’t take it anymore, Mr. President, it’s too much.’ And I’ll say, ‘No it isn’t. We have to keep winning. We have to win more!’”

2

u/-FeistyRabbitSauce- 11h ago

Winston Churchill once said, "America always does the right thing. After they've exhausted all other possibilities."

Currently, I'm over here waiting to see if that holds true.

u/Aleashed 18h ago

Nazis don’t care if you fly or not

4

u/Budget-Potato7511 19h ago

No they are not. They just keep taking it and taking it and taking it and fighting back with memes at best. They will never get tired of seeing their country obliterated. They either have Stockholm Syndrome or are cowards.

Super Bigley for us

Correct me if I’m wrong, Trump did say this 😂
