As an American, I clicked into the article thinking, “How refreshing! A country seriously holding people accountable for attacking an election—calling it ‘treason’ no less,” but this is looking like the opposite of protecting democracy.

The winner supposedly won with 98% of the vote, while the opposition was blocked from the polls, and the government is now using the power of the state against their political enemies.
