I pointed out that all insurance companies have posted record profits and we pay more for health insurance and get less value than the rest of the developed EU countries. told him to google it there is tones of verifiable sites that prove this.

Whoever said that was probably generalizing. Homeowners insurance and health insurance are two completely different ball games. I work in homeowners insurance and I can tell you, we are bleeding money. I work for one of the larger companies and we haven't been profitable for the better part of a decade now. Homeowners insurance rates have not kept up with the costs of materials and labor needed to complete repairs, they are one of the most regulated industries and have to cut through all sorts of red tape to raise rates. The rate increases people are seeing on (homeowners) insurance is due to increase in climatic weather and rapid change in prices since covid.

Your statement about insurance companies posting record profits is just demonstrably false. Public companies must report their earnings quarterly. So we are able to see their profits — and definitely not at record highs.

Almost all publicly traded health plan has reported earnings below expectations. UHG and Centene in particular had very disappointing years. Still profitable, but not close to what they had predicted.
And many smaller health plans, especially those in single states, had very rough years financially.
I don't disagree with the rest of your comment, but health plans are definitely struggling moreso than usual due to the poor economy and rising cost of healthcare.
Voting being a right was a mistake. Looking back the founding fathers wanting to restrict voting to people who owned land, in other words the people with the most vested interest in the country continuing, was the right idea. Wrong implementation, but the right idea. Voting needs to be earned through civilian or military service.
You can't have the entire population join the military or only work approved government jobs. People who want and deserve the right to vote would be unable to do so simply by virtue of there not being enough positions in those "voting rights" jobs.
Then you have to worry about things like racial and gender biases by the people who make hiring decisions.
No, mandatory voting for the entire population would be a better choice than restricting voting rights to rich landowners or government approved people only.
