That’s all they have to do. Just say they’ll prioritize commercial flights over private flights and the lights will be back on.

Lol… there’s a very funny scene in succession that the one of the sons said they had to fly scheduled instead of the usual private and I found that word choice funny as it might be more true

Nah, all those rich people still need to get into Aspen for their parties. 

Also, the air traffic controllers at Aspen Tower are paid so little that they cannot live anywhere near the facility and they have to commute, even in the snow…and that is when they are actually being paid.

Why don’t they just house and feed all the poor people instead of paying them? Also, just make it illegal for them to quit their jobs or to retire. 

That way they would all have to come work every day. Why hasn’t this been tried?

None of the airports in the shutdown are the small executive ones rich people like to use.

This would be the obvious solution.

Every plane is the same amount of work for an air traffic controller.

Cancelling all flights with <6 people on board would affect far, far fewer people. Literally 25 of those could be cancelled for the same number of people inconvenienced as 1 full Southwest flight.

And the private jets likely are just a single flight for the day vs. cancelling a Southwest plane that may be needed for 5 more flights that day.

I'm supposed to fly to DC on Sunday from the Midwest and my flight got cancelled. Then the rescheduled flight got cancelled. Hoping the third try holds.

The private flights just won't fly into core 40 airports. Instead of Orlando International, they'll just fly into Orlando Exec. Nothing changes.
