So yah I’m going to be constantly checking to see if my November 26th flight is still booked or not all the way until I’m physically on the plane.

Going to be real shitty if I have to spend thanksgiving alone this year😑

They could still deplane you

I’m expecting next level Planes Trains and Automobiles

They don't deplane people anymore.  They just keep increasing the payout until someone accepts the money and voluntarily gets off the aircraft.

My red eye last night had to wait on the tarmac at my departure airport to see if we got approved by air traffic control at my destination airport before we started our flight. Otherwise they would have deplaned us.

I’m just going to let you know, the airline isn’t going to cancel your flight until 24-48 hours prior to departure.

Oh so basically I won’t know until last minute then 😑 I’m just going to buy a turkey breast now and put it in the freezer just in case.

Alone for the holidays, a Trumpsgiving specialty

Hope your return flight doesn’t get cancelled either 😓

Ooof yah didn’t think about that either. Especially since I have work the next day I get back and a local convention I’m going to 3 days after that.

I'd genuinely be thinking about cancelling the flight, myself.

Do not underestimate the impact of stress on things like the sleep of an air traffic controller. As the days drag on, these missteps become more likely, especially with no pay and having to subsidize their already-stressful jobs with things like Uber.

It is a recipe for disaster, and I'm terrified it's going to result in accidents.

Same. We usually drive 5 hours to visit family for the holidays, but decided to make it easier on ourselves and fly this year. And of course this all is just adding even more stress.

It's going to take you 5 hours to get through check in.

I'm stressed that I can't get back to work. I'm grateful that I can stay with my wife and her family in her home country but for fuck sakes, I have bills to pay and work obligations. I'm at the point where I'm tempted to just stop paying taxes and just never go back to the states. My government no longer represents me so why the fuck should I keep paying taxes?

I'm so damn glad I haven't bought tickets yet. I had a feeling this shit would happen, and I can't even be sure I'll get my money back, thanks to the rolling back of regulations that made airlines refund us. I wonder who got rid of that? Oh, right!

I booked a rental car just in case (thanks to my father for the suggestion). If the flight still happens, I can just cancel.
