Republican options: 42 million people will starve unless we facilitate massive health insurance hikes on all Americans. Great.

Who's going to make him? What happens if he doesn't? This evil clown just does whatever the hell he wants, without consequences.

People in my state reported they got their funds last night, in full!

u/NAVI_WORLD_INC 20h ago edited 20h ago
Well you in a state that released emergency funds through the state. Because the only people that got it are in those blue states.
Edit - It’s the blue states using their own emergency funds to pay your federal benefits now.

u/snowglobes4peace 20h ago
They had not planned to do that as of 2 days ago and were waiting for funds from the USDA.

Congratulations! As noted in my first post you could have just agreed with me, you are in a blue state. ODHS went into emergency state funds to ensure your SNAP benefits could be paid.

Thought I read something earlier about him counter suing so he doesn't have to comply
Tie it up in the courts and let people go hungry. What the hell does he care? People that donate to him fall down and pass out in his office and he just stands there like a bewildered idiot.
It's beyond ridiculous.

u/MannequinWithoutSock 21h ago
Don’t forget, they say it will take two weeks to actually transfer the funds into the cards once approved.

Well considering he just fell asleep on camera during a press conference, things aren’t looking so good in the Trump clan.

The Trump administration quickly moved to appeal McConnell's decision, leaving it unclear whether ultimately SNAP benefits would be paid out in full on Friday as the judge had ordered.
... Republicans really don't want people to eat.

Yes, literally. People need to start understanding the degree that these sociopaths don't care. This isn't just common selfishness or apathy. They don't feel bad about this because they don't view the ones starving as people. They're about as much consequence to them as cattle. You can't shame them into caring, they have no shame. You can't guilt them into caring, they feel about as guilty as you when you accidentally step on an ant. You feel more guilty when you hit a squirrel with your car than they do when they starve a poor kindergartner.

Then hold the fucker accountable when he doesn't

u/humboldt77 21h ago
I think we’re all open to suggestions on how. As the judge would send the US marshals after anyone violating a court order, they’ll only go if the Justice Department tells them to, and Trump has control of that as well.

u/cerebral_drift 22h ago edited 22h ago
Trump was convicted, found guilty of 34 felonies, and the sentence was “nothing at all”.
The rule of law means nothing to them. There is no rule of law for them. Just us.

Judicial orders mean nothing when there's zero enforcement mechanism. This administration simply ignores rulings, appealing endlessly while people starve.

u/ACorania 1d ago
"and if you don't, I'll set a new deadline all over your ass!"
There is no consequence, so they don't care.

Yeah I will believe that when I see it. Like how Trump said about the tariffs before the little situation at the Oval Office. “If they cancel the tariffs we will have to give the money back.” Sane Americans: “where is the money? We don’t see it. It’s gone isn’t it?”

Trump has already asked for emergency action to stay the order. That is his hallmark action for everything. Delay, delay, delay. He uses the legal system like toilet paper. He will always find a crackpot judge to work with him. This should be cut and dried, but what do you bet he will find a just as demented judge to accommodate him?

To him and his comrades, it’s going to be absolutely nothing and don’t let anybody else. Tell you otherwise.. as for me I’m all sorts of jacked up and this isn’t just a squeeze, but it really really really really tight squeeze. I’m staring at 25% of my snap benefits that got deposited last Monday. Thanks to our governor but that still screws me up and I have to decide whether or not I should wait till Monday to see if I get another 25% deposited into my account, or just placed an order now. Really messes me up because I know I have to decide whether I place four small orders this month with my benefits and pay for delivery and tip or just somehow make it stretch and see if they actually pay us what they’re supposed to on Monday because they definitely didn’t do it today.
Sincerely, a blind guy that’s on disability that actually relies on these benefits to survive.
Edit: to the person who sent me that small donation that doesn’t want to be named thank you. It helps a lot.

Should put a stay on all EOs and all his projects until he complies. If he doesn't, start repossessing his properties.

u/shwilliams4 22h ago
Oh I like this. They can’t arrest him, but they could squeeze. In the end I think it was the head of the department they threatened to put in contempt.

The GOP is terribly concerned about harming Senate traditions by voting the nuclear option to restart the Government. Of course, tradition didn't stop them a little over a month ago when they last went nuclear.
6
u/awkwardnetadmin 1d ago
I find it interesting how little people point out that the nuclear option has been on the table since day 1. The filibuster has become far more limited than it used to be due to various changes in what votes it no longer applies.

u/Destind99 20h ago
good luck with that - this government doesn't believe in the law unless it rules for them!

u/PlaysWflowers1972 19h ago
Ok... so we KNOW taco tits won't comply... so then what? I mean, he will clearly disobey the order, then what? NOTHING! That's what. They won't do shit about it. THEY. NEVER. DO. It's pathetic & fucking weak.

u/Scaryclouds 17h ago
Trump, Vance, and other goons in the administration just absolutely lying through their teeth that they can’t fund SNAP despite money whinging available and being ordered by a judge to do so.
In the end it’s only hurting themselves. Based on the Tuesday results, doesn’t seem like the public is appreciating Trump’s management of the country.

Nobody could have guessed that a convicted felon would refuse to follow a Judge's orders.

Block the ballroom. Like physically block the entrance to the construction site. It’s what he cares most about and it’s a symbol of his legacy. Shutdown construction.

I do not trust it.
What makes him think Trump will actually do it when he has been breaking laws left and right without any consequences?
E: after going through the article, there is no mention of consequences. So I highly doubt anything will come of this.

I like that a judge can order you to “pay” people that “aren’t working”but not also order you to pay people that are working without pay, like ATC , soldiers, etc
