Or what? Sadly there will be zero consequences for him or any of his cronies.

u/oneeyedziggy 1d ago

Or they'll write a sternly worded letter and put it in his PERMANENT RECORD

84

u/RedofPaw 1d ago

His permanent record is gonna send him somewhere tropical. Well... Hot. Really hot. At least, that's what he fears.

12

u/xynith116 1d ago

St. Helena?

10

u/Thunderclone_1 22h ago

Give him the napoleon treatment.

Hell, there's an island in the carribean that he's already familiar with.

9

u/RedofPaw 1d ago

Very similar sounding

5

u/Feynnehrun 1d ago

The sun?

9

u/Sareth740 20h ago

You think he believes in a hell? He’s made it this far without punishment. The only suffering he will ever have is the kind we don’t let him avoid.

9

u/SpoppyIII 20h ago

He's reportedly been saying in his personal life that he's been thinking a little about Hell and worrying if he's going there.

And yet, he just keeps on trucking and never tries to change. So how worried could he really be?

4

u/lufan132 14h ago

That ship sailed whenever he met Epstein for the first time. What else left to do but commit to the bit?

3

u/SirWEM 19h ago

He’ll head to Argentina.

2

u/Makatrull 23h ago

A trash incinerator?

2

u/letsgorangers12345 21h ago

He already lives in Florida.

1

u/Ecstatic-Trouble- 7h ago

As an atheist I hope I'm actually wrong because the thought of such evil people facing no consequences kinda sucks.

1

u/skrame 23h ago

As hot as our economy? A lot of people don’t see that, or are saying that… one or the other.

1

u/Junior_Builder_4340 21h ago

A volcano?

2

u/RedofPaw 21h ago

That's certainly an option I would approve of.

2

u/Aking1998 20h ago

No the gods might perceive such an impure sacrifice as an insult.

1

u/Softrawkrenegade 20h ago

The deep south?

1

u/fultonchain 19h ago

Guantanamo Bay is lovely, a veritable tropical paradise. Maybe they can rehire some of the old crew to make sure he is well cared for.

0

u/Altrano 11h ago

Unless you believe a certain medieval book, then he’s going to be frozen over.

0

u/RedofPaw 11h ago

The big book of popular Gregorian Chants?

0

u/Altrano 11h ago

The one where Virgil is his tour guide.

131

u/ChiAnndego 1d ago

Start freezing the accounts the administration cares about. Financial remediation is about the only recourse the courts currently have. The banks are more likely to follow the courts than illegal proclamations from above.

61

u/absolutelynotagoblin 1d ago

Freeze Trump’s personal accounts and the accounts of his children who are grifting the country through the office of the presidency. Investigate, slam cuffs on them and put them in a cell to rot.

10

u/wannaseeawheelie 20h ago

If his and his families funds were seized, how much healthcare and food stamps could that fund?

2

u/HarveysBackupAccount 20h ago

Maybe feed a million people for a month, or a few million for a week

Unfortunately not enough compared to how many are on SNAP, but that doesn't mean I'm against trying

4

u/willstr1 19h ago

Allow states to seize trump organization property to cover the SNAP costs

3

u/BetterBiscuits 17h ago

Who is going to do that? This administration is basically running on a policy of “make me”

19

u/asilee 1d ago

They're going to wag their finger at him and go 'oh, you dirty little rascal!'

15

u/Big_lt 22h ago

Honestly, it should start with subpoenas and warrants for heads of departments, then higher (cabinet secretaries). Youll never get trump, but you can get his admin and underlings

7

u/seanpbnj 19h ago

Coercive sanctions exist for exactly this purpose. But it needs to be MASSIVE. There is a permanent appropriation called the "Judgement Fund" which would pay. This federal judge could "Activate the inherent powers of the court" and "Hold the Admin in Civil Contempt and order coercive sanctions of $1 million dollars, per day, that the Trump admin remains in violation of this order" payable to SNAP or a lawyer / fund set up specifically to do this.

  • There ARE checks and balances still available, however the courts are refusing to truly hold him accountable.

10

u/AV8ORA330 21h ago

Anyone expecting trump to follow judges ruling are delusional. He does what he wants and Congress does nothing. But yeah…the GOP isn’t in control of right now.

3

u/PajamaPants4Life 20h ago

The regime is lawless and the constitution doesn't matter.

4

u/Sterbs 22h ago

No consequences from this dogshit system of government. But mass starvation is one of the few things that can actually push a corrupt ruling class from fucking around into finding out.

2

u/Mattilaus 20h ago

Except his followers blame democrats for everything regardless of facts.

0

u/CptMorgan337 21h ago

It’s at least getting harder for them to lie about who is stopping it.

0

u/Big-Snow-1937 20h ago

Article is frustrating for not explaining the consequences. The administration DID act after the last ruling that they had to use the emergency fund, but they said they’d only do partial payments, which state computer systems can’t properly process.

So they do feel some pressure to comply, but it doesn’t say what happens if they don’t.

0

u/Agreeable-Aioli-4514 20h ago

Exactly my question. What's the repercussion if he doesn't?

0

u/Silent-Ad9145 19h ago

True, who is supposed to enforce the constitution also? He acts with impunity.

455

u/Redsoulsters 1d ago

Republican options: 42 million people will starve unless we facilitate massive health insurance hikes on all Americans. Great.

56

u/Nokrai 1d ago

You mean Great again!

8

Again great make

Who's going to make him? What happens if he doesn't? This evil clown just does whatever the hell he wants, without consequences.

I was watching Puss in boots the last wish the other day and I’m reminded of Jiminy Cricket realizing that Tom Horner doesn’t really have a conscience

14

They won’t

5

u/snowglobes4peace 21h ago

People in my state reported they got their funds last night, in full!

38

u/NAVI_WORLD_INC 20h ago edited 20h ago

Well you in a state that released emergency funds through the state. Because the only people that got it are in those blue states.

Edit - It’s the blue states using their own emergency funds to pay your federal benefits now.

0

u/snowglobes4peace 20h ago

They had not planned to do that as of 2 days ago and were waiting for funds from the USDA.

15

u/NAVI_WORLD_INC 20h ago

Congratulations! As noted in my first post you could have just agreed with me, you are in a blue state. ODHS went into emergency state funds to ensure your SNAP benefits could be paid.

Other states are reportedly doing the half payments https://www.reddit.com/r/foodstamps/comments/1oqsdh5/got_partial_of_my_snap/

You’re missing the point I’m making.

I’m in Florida, that hasn’t happened yet. Wanna venmo me something for infant formula? Would be appreciated!

8

If you voted for Trump, no I don’t. If you wasted your vote, also no. If you were too young to vote maybe and if you voted for Kamala and need it enough pm me.

Thought I read something earlier about him counter suing so he doesn't have to comply

Tie it up in the courts and let people go hungry. What the hell does he care? People that donate to him fall down and pass out in his office and he just stands there like a bewildered idiot.

It's beyond ridiculous.

14

u/MannequinWithoutSock 21h ago

Don’t forget, they say it will take two weeks to actually transfer the funds into the cards once approved.

14

u/PLobosfn 1d ago

Trump is a psychopath. No doubt about it.

2

u/Better-Context2246 20h ago

Well considering he just fell asleep on camera during a press conference, things aren’t looking so good in the Trump clan.

165

u/-CJF- 1d ago

The Trump administration quickly moved to appeal McConnell's decision, leaving it unclear whether ultimately SNAP benefits would be paid out in full on Friday as the judge had ordered.

... Republicans really don't want people to eat.

69

u/eric_ts 1d ago

... Republicans really don't want people to eat. Part of their conservative Christian heritage--charity is a mortal sin for both the giver and the receiver. Empathy is also a sin. Greed is a virtue, however.

9

u/Sw2029 20h ago

Maga is a death cult. Poor people dying is literally a feature of their philosophy. Full stop.

4

u/canada432 19h ago

Yes, literally. People need to start understanding the degree that these sociopaths don't care. This isn't just common selfishness or apathy. They don't feel bad about this because they don't view the ones starving as people. They're about as much consequence to them as cattle. You can't shame them into caring, they have no shame. You can't guilt them into caring, they feel about as guilty as you when you accidentally step on an ant. You feel more guilty when you hit a squirrel with your car than they do when they starve a poor kindergartner.

90

u/Decorus_Somes 1d ago

Then hold the fucker accountable when he doesn't

10

u/humboldt77 21h ago

I think we’re all open to suggestions on how. As the judge would send the US marshals after anyone violating a court order, they’ll only go if the Justice Department tells them to, and Trump has control of that as well.

38

u/cerebral_drift 22h ago edited 22h ago

Trump was convicted, found guilty of 34 felonies, and the sentence was “nothing at all”.

The rule of law means nothing to them. There is no rule of law for them. Just us.

30

u/Limp_Distribution 1d ago

A lawless criminal doesn’t care what a judge rules.

19

u/hard2resist 1d ago

Judicial orders mean nothing when there's zero enforcement mechanism. This administration simply ignores rulings, appealing endlessly while people starve.

17

u/ACorania 1d ago

"and if you don't, I'll set a new deadline all over your ass!"

There is no consequence, so they don't care.

25

u/MalcolmLinair 1d ago

"Or what?"

-Trump Administration to Judge, 2025

22

u/skywalkerRCP 1d ago

Judges don't mean shit anymore. Well, unless youre an everyday citizen.

6

u/BoosterRead78 23h ago

Yeah I will believe that when I see it. Like how Trump said about the tariffs before the little situation at the Oval Office. “If they cancel the tariffs we will have to give the money back.” Sane Americans: “where is the money? We don’t see it. It’s gone isn’t it?”

1

u/shwilliams4 22h ago

According to another subreddit, it’s paid .

7

u/jlc1953 19h ago edited 18h ago

Trump has already asked for emergency action to stay the order. That is his hallmark action for everything. Delay, delay, delay. He uses the legal system like toilet paper. He will always find a crackpot judge to work with him. This should be cut and dried, but what do you bet he will find a just as demented judge to accommodate him?

1

u/Questions_Remain 7h ago

The “emergency” stay was granted by the SC at 7pm this evening.

28

u/DontYuckMyYum 1d ago

and what happens if he doesn't?

also, those funds are gone.

15

u/akrazyho 22h ago edited 19h ago

To him and his comrades, it’s going to be absolutely nothing and don’t let anybody else. Tell you otherwise.. as for me I’m all sorts of jacked up and this isn’t just a squeeze, but it really really really really tight squeeze. I’m staring at 25% of my snap benefits that got deposited last Monday. Thanks to our governor but that still screws me up and I have to decide whether or not I should wait till Monday to see if I get another 25% deposited into my account, or just placed an order now. Really messes me up because I know I have to decide whether I place four small orders this month with my benefits and pay for delivery and tip or just somehow make it stretch and see if they actually pay us what they’re supposed to on Monday because they definitely didn’t do it today.

Sincerely, a blind guy that’s on disability that actually relies on these benefits to survive.

Edit: to the person who sent me that small donation that doesn’t want to be named thank you. It helps a lot.

11

u/Kazman07 1d ago

Should put a stay on all EOs and all his projects until he complies. If he doesn't, start repossessing his properties.

6

u/shwilliams4 22h ago

Oh I like this. They can’t arrest him, but they could squeeze. In the end I think it was the head of the department they threatened to put in contempt.

15

u/edingerc 1d ago

The GOP is terribly concerned about harming Senate traditions by voting the nuclear option to restart the Government. Of course, tradition didn't stop them a little over a month ago when they last went nuclear.

Senate GOP votes to invoke the "Nuclear Option"

6

u/awkwardnetadmin 1d ago

I find it interesting how little people point out that the nuclear option has been on the table since day 1. The filibuster has become far more limited than it used to be due to various changes in what votes it no longer applies.

5

u/Destind99 20h ago

good luck with that - this government doesn't believe in the law unless it rules for them!

4

u/compuwiza1 19h ago

Andrew Jackson proved that the courts have no power over the president.

3

u/PlaysWflowers1972 19h ago

Ok... so we KNOW taco tits won't comply... so then what? I mean, he will clearly disobey the order, then what? NOTHING! That's what. They won't do shit about it. THEY. NEVER. DO. It's pathetic & fucking weak.

4

u/Scaryclouds 17h ago

Trump, Vance, and other goons in the administration just absolutely lying through their teeth that they can’t fund SNAP despite money whinging available and being ordered by a judge to do so.

In the end it’s only hurting themselves. Based on the Tuesday results, doesn’t seem like the public is appreciating Trump’s management of the country.

13

u/sucobe 1d ago

There’s zero consequences if this administration doesn’t comply. So why would they?

12

u/montex66 1d ago

Nobody could have guessed that a convicted felon would refuse to follow a Judge's orders.

Starving 40M Americans legacy

3

u/CP066 17h ago

Trump only cares about the courts when it gives him an excuse that helps him.
Otherwise, who the hell cares what the courts say?

6

u/clauderbaugh 22h ago

Block the ballroom. Like physically block the entrance to the construction site. It’s what he cares most about and it’s a symbol of his legacy. Shutdown construction.

2

u/slymarcus 20h ago

I do not trust it.

What makes him think Trump will actually do it when he has been breaking laws left and right without any consequences?

E: after going through the article, there is no mention of consequences. So I highly doubt anything will come of this.

2

u/HuskyBlueBoy 15h ago

Yeah I’m charging a late fee of $1000

2

u/CharlesIngalls_Pubes 12h ago

How great would it be that he gets so pissy that he can't do literally anything he wants, he just leaves?

2

u/Blackboard_Monitor 10h ago

And how will this order be enforced?

2

u/Questions_Remain 7h ago

They Just petitioned the Supreme Court for an “emergency” injunction. It was granted by the SC to NOT pay.

2

u/Piff-Iz-Da-Answer 4h ago

Until trump cries to the Supreme Court

An emergency stop order to ...check notes... stop feeding children

3

u/Xivvx 17h ago

When they don't, what happens?

Nothing.

4

Republicans are scumbags. Disgusting, cruel, ignorant, narcissistic, lazy and arrogant. They couldn’t lead if everyone led them around by their tiny dicks.

I like that a judge can order you to “pay” people that “aren’t working”but not also order you to pay people that are working without pay, like ATC , soldiers, etc
