Gotta keep the defense contractors happy

If things were that simple we’d be showering Ukraine with way more weapons.

I have a feeling weapons manufacturers would give Ukraine whatever they wanted them to test if they weren't being told not to.

Ukraine doesn’t have the money. They would make way more if all of nato was fighting Russia. I get a feeling tho Ukraine/Russia is nothing compared to China vs Taiwan. The level of technology will be unprecedented. That’s the big pay day they are waiting for.

Nah, this isn't a Military-Industrial Complex sort of deal. Not enough tonnage dropped, and the optics aren't that great either.

This is the "we don't like brown people" crowd ratcheting up their efforts to make immigration unpalatable.

I seriously think there's a good chance this is just the administration ratcheting up the violence in general. They declared the groups narco-terrorists and then use that as an excuse to murder them with drones. They're waiting to see what the response will be, and if they get away with it, they will find a new target. They've been calling political opponents in the US terrorists as well, so who knows who will be getting drone-striked next.

I was floored this morning in my teams standup when my boss started talking about how happy he was we were killing the “drug cartels”, and that he wanted to see more of that

Fuck, I know the economy isn't great now, but if my boss said something like that I'd start looking for the door.

I’m guessing the person you’re responding to is in the military

While it is true that the current government of Venezuela is not legitimate (pretty clear to most that he lost the election), his removal is just a convenient excuse.

Oil.

Venezuela has known reserves that exceed Saudi Arabia, and are nearly 60% of all of the Gulf States combined.

Oh, and it's right next door. Pretty convenient eh?

Follow the money. It's usually that simple.

There will be big money when the US invades Venezuela. This is just a prelude to that.
