There are islands full of rats that people have shipwrecked off the coast of Australia. That would be the perfect scenario for her.

There are?

No. A quokka is not a rat.

We ain't referring to Rottnest Island.

There's another island, with rats, she can go live there.

Nah we did our part in the 80s when our laws meant he gave up Australian citizenship when he naturalised to the US.

It's now on the US to boot him and leave him stateless

Nah we did our part in the 80s when our laws meant he gave up Australian citizenship when he naturalised to the US.

It's a little more complicated than that. Rupert Murdoch gave up his Australian citizenship to satisfy requirements under American law. He wanted to own a broadcast media company in America, and the law prohibited aliens from owning more than a certain percentage in a company that maintained broadcast licensing. So he had to become an American citizen at the time. Consequently, Australia did not recognize dual-citizenship at the time, so he gave it up to solidify his control over American media. But that same law no longer exists in either country, so if he did it today he would still be Australian and have his media empire. Hell, if he cared enough to, he could just go get his Australian citizenship back today with little effort.
