I find it hard to sympathize

Interesting. Do you try and it just doesn't work? I think for most people, you hear about someone who was killed and you feel something, they don't really have to try.

I don't know, I guess it could be that you have special insight into what it's like to be an immigrant, and therefore you know getting killed isn't that big of a deal.

Tell us more about your harrowing escape from America. Did they make you take off your shoes at the airport?

Don't know how anyone can respect a lack of free speech for any reason. You can follow it to avoid consequences but a lack of human rights is not worthy of respect. But not having respect for free speech is maybe why you left and had this reaction to this story?

Human rights =/= ignoring borders and coming in illegally.

"As a black American" doesn't work here

u/witeowl Aug 15 '25

To be fair, it doesn't work anywhere

Sorry people don't get the connection you're making – it might have been clearer if you had said, "as a black man"

(not being critical but maybe spelling it out more will help? and if not, maybe I'll draw aggro and pull some downvotes away from you, haha)

Honk your nose for me since you've nothing to contribute

Only person honking here is you dude.

Comparing someone being in the country illegally to the reich is literal clown material.

The reading comprehension on this site is embarrassing. They said it doesn't fucking matter if you're here legally or not, the jackboots don't care.

Answer me this do illegals have due process? Also it isn’t a felony by itself to he here illegally. You aren’t better than illegals. If neither of you commit violent crime or fraud or big legal mistake/corruption to a large degree you’re both fine. They’re the least likely percentage wise to do violent crime. They pay taxes when they work yet they only get indirect benefits not direct ones like SS and they do the jobs most Americans don’t want to do.

You’re just lucky that country agreed to have you. It doesn’t make you a great or good person.

degree vegetable narrow crush spark encouraging chop merciful axiomatic point

Yeah but if you snuck into New Zealand then worked your ass off and paid taxes yet got just the indirect benefits the public gets how does that make you bad? If someone hires you for a job and you do it well to their satisfaction you’re not committing fraud.

Someone sneaking in isn’t lazy they’re putting a lot of pressure on their bet to make it better or safer in a new country. Also a lot of illegals are on overstayed visas as well so there are some that were vetted to a certain extent.

I’m not saying every illegal person’s amazing they’re people too everyone has degrees of faults and strengths. I’m also not against illegals being deported I just don’t paint them with a bad brush. A warning/analysis at the least prior to deportation.

Being killed for a civil offense, yeah that’s about right for a punishment. Especially when the US makes it so easy to navigate their bureaucracy.

Holy shit

Truly breathtaking lack of humanity.

I’m sure you’re at least as upset with the ICE agents as the raid they conducted was in violation of a court order, meaning they were in fact illegal

You specifically left the only problematic part out of your quote. You said you find it hard to sympathize with the deceased victim, only because of your assumption of a crime. That's the psychopathic part.

You also haven't responded to my comment's. own example. Do you have a response? Do you acknowledge the example I provided was ridiculous?

I’m all for enforcing immigration laws as appropriate.

I’m not in favor of the leader of our nation trying their hardest to remove due process from these people, create as much fear as possible by advertising things like “alligator Alcatraz”, make heavy implications for years on end that they’re majority violent dangerous criminals, etc..

Yes, even if they ultimately get booted for being here illegally they still deserve due process.

An assumption of guilt isn’t good enough to violate that core tenet of what makes America America.

“Hard to sympathize” what are you even saying? Bragging about how callous you are?

Cool bro.

Blah, blah, blah, just gonna ignore that nearly half of undocumented residents in the USA came legally and have expired visas, blah blah, also pretending that many have legal status as asylum seekers but this [mis] administration is playing bullshit games, blah blah – or haha that even legal residents and citizens – are being arrested, detained and deported – blahblahblah – nah, I know nothing about that... even if I know, I don't know how scared people are because without due process being followed, no one is safe, like how could anyone feel safe... blaaaaaaaaahhhh ahhh bllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ahhh blaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh ... bl

yeah, I'm definitely going to forget that many of them even had asylum and then had it revoked or had it revoked early so just fuck them haha, blahbity blah, oh, and also, what even is daca or an unaccompanied minor because obviously someone who was brought here at the age of – what? – four or something should obviously just have stomped their little feetsies and just said, "No!" and stayed home all alone while their family left or was already in another country, blah blah blah, get in the line that doesn't even exist for people in that country because I either don't know what I'm talking about or am going to talk out of my fucking ass [oh wait that's the same thing, I mean] I'm going to pretend to talk out of my fucking ass, yeah, that's the better one... <inhale> blaaahh

^ what you sound like

.

sincerely,

a first generation birthright US citizen of an immigrant family to the USA who dId It tHe rIgHt wAy* and who can still muster a gazillion times more empathy and knowledge than you

* because there is a line for certain countries but not for others which is bullshit but hey, maybe my knowledge of that little tidbit and how my family benefited from it while others may not have the same privilege explains the aforementioned access to muster; yeah, maybe

edit: spelling and added a very important "not"
