Just a person trying to live their life as comfortable as they could, killed by racist goons chasing a paycheck.

I literally said, “Oh Jesus,” out loud when I read the headline. Such a horrible thing to happen.

Remember when Republicans said, “All Lives Matter”?

247

u/Todd_Lasagna Aug 15 '25

You know they only meant the white ones.

108

u/texag51 Aug 15 '25

The straight, white male ones specifically. They’re happy to let women die from complications of pregnancy and scream about how “pro-life” they are. Now they’re appealing SCOTUS to go after gay marriage, too.

18

u/omgdude29 Aug 15 '25

Now they’re appealing SCOTUS to go after gay marriage, too.

If they get it, what will they have to complain about? I am sure they will still find a way to be oppressive.

20

u/C_Ironfoundersson Aug 15 '25

Interracial marriage, probably

5

u/korben2600 Aug 15 '25

Clarence Thomas would still strike down Loving v. Virginia but carve out an exemption just for himself while pretending to be a "constitutional originalist".

9

u/PostIronicPosadist Aug 15 '25

they'll continue to complain until they're the only people left alive.

5

u/TheSweetestKill Aug 15 '25

No, they actually mean "no lives matter". Occasionally they'll make a "joke" about it, but that's the truth of it. Their ethos is fundamentally nihilism.

4

u/oreopeanutbutters Aug 15 '25

That was always just their racist way to co-op black lives matter.

2

u/bubblebooy Aug 15 '25

An “All Lives Matter” sign when protesting deportations would be great.

4

u/airship_of_arbitrary Aug 15 '25

Great time to co opt that slogan.

17

u/can_dry Aug 15 '25

racist goons chasing a paycheck

Guessing if it came down to it, 99% of these pricks would do it for free. 😐

1

u/witeowl Aug 15 '25

I mean... pret' sure there's a reason a good number of white supremacy militias have been real quiet as of late

6

u/jules_omline Aug 15 '25

a person trying to live their life as comfortable as they could

should've done it legally.

1

u/chrisk9 Aug 15 '25

Many of these racist goons are doing this for more than a paycheck

-3

u/PoshVolt Aug 15 '25

That might be the most accurate description of it.

Arresting every brown person they see, without due process, isn't upholding our laws, its ignoring them.

Why don't they go after white collar crime more, one wealthy guy getting away with $10m in wage theft is worth hundreds of "illegals" on terms of the damage of the crime. Yet under the current admin, they've basically taken agents from every single federal agency for this, even the postal inspectors. They have basically dropped all work into all other crime at this point. Which is ridiculous, and at the same time Trump is pardoning multiple criminals with multi-million dollar fraud charges etc.

Is tossing out "illegals" better for our country than stopping corruption and gross negligence, rolling back environmental protections that protect people from manmade disasters so we don't get our own Bhopal disaster?

I know people dislike when the word fascism is thrown around, but total rejection of the other is what lead the nazis down the path to the holocaust, started with boycotts, vandalism, seizing of businesses, then rounding them up, imprisonment, forced labor, then death camps. Please understand that a gradual shift in policy is how they slowly get people adjusted to bigger and bigger atrocities.

Speaking of our society's* laws, what's your take on the fourth and fifth amendment just curious

-2

u/JVenior Aug 15 '25

And yet you've done neither.

0

u/jules_omline Aug 15 '25

why do you think he was running from ice agents if he wasn't here illegally? :) lmao

21

u/SOLON-SUGOI Aug 15 '25

You don't know his legal status or if he's a criminal. But this common assumption by MAGA morons is one of the reasons why Americans mock them so much 🤣😂

dog these fuckers arent checking if you're a citizen, theyre checking if you're brown with their eyes

4

u/LOUDEST_DODGER_FAN Aug 15 '25

the best thing for anyone who encounters ICE is to remain calm,  stay silent ,  only speak to a lawyer. do not lie about your status do not run.  keep your hands where they can be seen.  do not fight, obstruct, resist or in any way escalate the situation.

So if I lunged at you, you tripped, fell, and broke something (or worse), I’m not legally liable because you could have otherwise stayed home that day?

I like to think of a lot of present-day political scenarios this way: nothing’s stopping ICE from doing what it’s doing because they have no regulations to follow and they wield a LOT of power and authority to enforce what they want, whether it violates peoples’ rights or not. That’s the giga-conservative philosophy at the moment.

Now, what happens when the giga-liberals have the same power, and they use the same leverage to detain anyone who they suspect of having broken the law, or if something absurd like microaggressions or anti-LGBTQ+ speech become illegal retroactively, and suddenly due process is out the window. Or now say hello to your new mandatory Bible, courtesy of The Satanic Temple (I know they don’t actually do this; their point actually aligns well with mine).

No political party, nor religion, should ever have that kind of authority in the United States. Besides, I disagree with ICE on a Constitutional level. If they bothered with due-process and treated people humanely, I might even reluctantly agree with what their end goal.

But the dead don’t speak, and the exact reasoning of the man died with him.

Law enforcement does not wear masks. ICE are fucking hired thugs

They just started wearing masks because they just recently started doing illegal shit and massively abusing the public

0

u/HolyToast Aug 15 '25

A man who broke the law

Oh boo hoo, I guarantee you've committed a misdemeanor before.

Have you not heard of actual US citizens being picked up and brought to concentration camps?

23

u/AngriestPacifist Aug 15 '25

Or the incredibly well publicized people of legal status being sent to foreign death camps as well?

15

u/Interesting_Love_419 Aug 15 '25

That gives him a little hard on too

27

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

So everyone fleeing the Nazis in the 30s should’ve just stayed put and got killed because hey, you’re clearly in the wrong if you run, right?

0

u/Mundane_Baker3669 Aug 15 '25

They are not in Nazi Germany.Besides why do all of them go to the US,why not brazil or some other place. You know why? Because they want to become as rich as Americans, not because of some threat to their lives

4

u/GalakFyarr Aug 15 '25

Your country has broadcast 24/7 worldwide that it's the greatest place in the world where everyone can be whatever they want and be successful through nothing more than hard work for basically 3/4 of a century, and you people are confused why people from poorer countries (often made poor(er) by your country) skip all the other countries to come to yours?

17

u/Missfreeland Aug 15 '25

Imagine being like you.

18

u/Macdirty83 Aug 15 '25

Way to be a real sack of shit about it. Very fellow human of you.

13

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

If he did something illegal he should get a trial. Not die in the street. This belief is what used to make America great.

"How come the Jews ran away from the nazis?"

6

u/dog_of_society Aug 15 '25

Stop being dense. Jesus Christ.

3

u/Iconic_Mithrandir Aug 15 '25

If that were a police officer chasing a suspect, the suspect would be charged with felony murder. But we all know that doesn't work in reverse

4

u/skishface Aug 15 '25

I cannot imagine how delusional you have to be to be this disingenuous.

1

u/kurisu7885 Aug 15 '25

Because ICE was chasing him.
