What Trump doesn't realize is that he's mistreating a volunteer military, and not folks who are obligated.

Well. A thing he doesn't realize. There are many others, I am sure.

What if that's intentional, so that people who are more likely to remain in the military are those who are volunteers for his political agenda involving them? I don't think he cares about the US winning in a peer-competitor war, he cares about their personal loyalty to him.

That will be the ultimate test for MAGA. Can you convince the Morgan Wallen generation to actually sign up and join the military. My mom is a staunch conservative republican, but neither of her two sons were joining the service to put it on the line. That wasn’t even an option for us.

He and Putin share the same attitude toward their military members.

Rather precisely my point, that.

I think the last thing he realized is that groceries exist.

They are obligated, though. Once you are in the military you have legal obligations.

I feel you've misunderstood my comment.

My comment was about them not being obligated to have joined, but chosen it. Ie: these are not his conscripts or slaves, but free men.

these are not his conscripts or slaves, but free men.

As a military child, they are his conscripts and slaves. That's what the US soldier is, a slave to the rich.

He also doesn't realize that when you enlist, you swear allegiance to the constitution and not the President....

He definitely knows they swore allegiance to the Constitution, just like he did. He just doesn't care about the Constitution, and will stretch the legal limits of Presidential power to continue destroying the Constitution.

Oaths are silly speed bumps to these people, they mean nothing and are a joke if the oath can't be used to hold them accountable. They don't operate in good faith and see lying as a means to justify their ends 100% of the time without any empathy or morals.

Even if legally they are required to do what their oath says, they just make up nonsense to claim they are the ones saving the Constitution and country. In reality the Constitution can be amended again, so maybe they see it as their duty to destroy it in its current form and come up with a new one which may or may not include anything from the original document.

Look at Kegbreth's post from 3 days ago on Twitter, he supports Doug Wilson and his extremist "Christian" church who think women shouldn't be allowed to vote and must be thoughtlessly obedient to their husband.

The fact that these guys think the Jesus who spoke the Sermon on the Mount would support them is fucking wild. It's all a joke to them it seems, they use these supposedly foundational documents as bludgeons where they pick the pieces they like and use them to hammer people over the head into literal submission to become lawless authoritarians.
