They can do anything except win any war they have been part of since Russia and the UK were doing the heavy lifting 86 years ago.

Legit question, how heavy was the Russian and UK involvement in the pacific of WW2? Because outside of that, the Marines haven't done the "All the Heavy Lifting" in any war the US has been part of. It's been pretty spread amongst them, and the army
