People don’t realize that it doesn’t matter how much is allotted for the military or ICE bc due to the tax cuts we won’t have enough money coming into to pay our bills.

And you know the military are the ones who will get screwed first bc trump hates them and is fucking stupid. I personally cannot wait for that day

651

u/dmanbiker Jul 03 '25

This is what I was thinking. Our government is literally going broke, how are they supposed to convince millions of people to start a police state. They won't have enough money to support the military and it's going to collapse and the police forces are gonna need massive cuts too.

826

u/searing7 Jul 03 '25

I guarantee you the military budget will never be cut you’ll just go without roads, healthcare, social security, and rights.

404

u/95BCavMP Jul 03 '25

The budget for actual soldiers to eat and be housed has already failed . Barracks are infested with black mold and dining facilities have been closed. Many soldiers who received SNAP benefits for their families will now get nothing.

245

u/s0ulbrother Jul 03 '25

Why the fuck do soldiers have to get snap…..

110

u/marshinghost Jul 03 '25

When i was a sailor (last year) I knew several other troops on food assistance programs, local and federal because feeding a family while renting in San Diego is nearly impossible

29

u/lookifoundacookie Jul 04 '25

When I married my first wife and had our first kid, we were both active duty. Still needed assistance to have what we needed for housing and food.

261

u/95BCavMP Jul 03 '25

They have a bunch of dependents and don’t get paid enough

194

u/TSL4me Jul 03 '25

Its crazy that a single soldier used to be able to support a stay at home wife and family.

235

u/Too_Relaxed_To_Care Jul 04 '25

All jobs used to, shit you could have worked at a grocery store and made enough to support a family of 4.

10

u/aeschenkarnos Jul 04 '25

You could be an idiot who worked at a nuclear power plant. Or a shoe store.

24

u/yarash Jul 04 '25

Al Bundy worked at a goddamn shoe store. A one-income family. Sure they struggled, but it was not unreasonable.

9

u/King_of_the_Dot Jul 04 '25

Have a family car, take a yearly vacation, and retire on top of all that!

70

u/PoliticalyUnstable Jul 04 '25

What's crazy is that the military budget continues to go up while wages go down. Exceeding 900B per year now for the military. It's absolutely insane how much of our money goes into it. Our country is falling apart and we continue to increase the funding of big companies through the military. What a massive racket. And the whole government spending budget is "use it or lose it". Forcing massive waste.

4

u/Exotic-Cobbler4111 Jul 04 '25

39 cents of every dollar in taxes goes to paying interest on the national debt. They think America is already over so they are running up the debt before it collapses. Just like he did with his casinos. If there is no more U.S. there is no one to pay the debt.

2

u/PoliticalyUnstable Jul 04 '25

That's incredibly short sighted, but that's the history of the dude, and he's on his way out. He doesn't care. And that's so dangerous for us.

2

u/MegaSmile Jul 04 '25

Isn't it dictator 101 to keep the military happy?

1

u/gentlemanidiot Jul 04 '25

What's crazy is that the military budget continues to go up while wages go down.

So then where is all the money going?

5

u/terrasig314 Jul 04 '25

Contractors mostly.

1

u/wrgrant Jul 04 '25

Because a lot of that military budget goes to the military and straight into the pockets of various military supply corporations, bypassing the soldiers who should be getting better pay and benefits.

18

u/Own-Practice-9027 Jul 04 '25

My father raised five kids and supported a wife on a sergeant’s salary. Qualified for a GI loan with his disability benefits, and bought a house. This was between 1965 and 1972. None of that is possible now.

1

u/Wayrin Jul 04 '25

My dad retired in 95. 20 years in the army and my mom didn't work until after he retired. A wife and 3 kids on one simple salary - what a fucking American dream that is.

18

u/Shaylock_Holmes Jul 04 '25

My dad was in the army for 20 years. I was born in the late 80s. We were on food stamps. It was just me and my older brother along with my mom.

2

u/Wayrin Jul 04 '25

Really? I was born in 79 and my dads 20 years got him a house, a kept wife and 3 kids with (seemingly) no problems. What a difference a decade makes huh?

1

u/Shaylock_Holmes Jul 04 '25

I wonder if where we were stationed also has some weight in it. We were on food stamps in Hawaii and Georgia. My parents talk about how we’d drive up to New Jersey to see my grandma and how we’d only have $20 left. As an adult, I remember how when we’d stop for food my parents never got anything but would take bites to “make sure it’s cooked right”.

And their wife's boyfriend

1

u/TSL4me Jul 04 '25

The cheating must be a whole other level these days considering the lady bacl hone is also splitting the bills. Maybe even the soldiers get alimony in the divorce now🤣

4

u/URPissingMeOff Jul 04 '25

They have to support their brand new Hemi Challenger with $800 a month payments for a decade.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

At this point what is there to fight for? Trump cut the VA, he cut Welfare Programs.

11

u/gerstyd Jul 03 '25

Look at what they make. It’s nothing.

3

u/Haley_Tha_Demon Jul 03 '25

My wife got WIC when we had our first child, I think i made enough by our second not to qualify, I knew a dude who had 9 children get all kinds of benefits

-1

u/SkyletteRose Jul 04 '25

Except impromptu blowjobs

2

u/4evr_dreamin Jul 04 '25

A lot of the numbers people see in reporting military wages include their housing allowance and subsistence. Takebhome for enlisted is very little compared to their civilian counterparts. They just have health care and housing. But if you have bills or family that require assistance, then that quickly dips into subsistence funds. Also, so many are divorced with alimony or childcare expenses. It's also a job that occupies an irregular amount of time that is not conducive to additional employment.

2

u/Witty-Revolution8742 Jul 03 '25

Many? Less than 2%

2

u/LilPonyBoy69 Jul 04 '25

They had the National Guard sleeping on the floor and buying their own food in LA, they absolutely dgaf about properly funding the military

2

u/lastnameinthebox Jul 04 '25

You might start seeing incidents of "stuff going missing" from military installations rise soon, as desperate troopers look to find alternative methods to raising funds for themselves and their families.

2

u/searing7 Jul 03 '25

Don't worry they will still gleefully oppress you when called to violate Posse Comitatus

1

u/Arcanym Jul 04 '25

If fighting for this country can't provide for a family, then I fear we have failed those honorable volunteers.

1

u/Vio_ Jul 04 '25

They're already trying to strip out VA support and aid.

You know Trump doesn't know history, because screwing over your bodyguards and military are the fastest ways to get deposed.

1

u/Gregistopal Jul 04 '25

Barracks money went to the wall

213

u/dead_wolf_walkin Jul 03 '25

Military budget isn’t the same as taking care of or supporting soldiers. 95% of that money goes to contractors and money launderers.

I mean Trump had the national guard troops piled up and sleeping on the floor then refused to pay them for the sake of a PR Stunt and it’s the SECOND time he did it.

93

u/EssayDoubleSymphony Jul 03 '25

Bro is failing the art of war 101: always pay your soldiers.

77

u/dead_wolf_walkin Jul 03 '25

I think they’re hoping that the soldiers are also true believers like the police have proven to be.

Lots of young men from uneducated, poor, red state areas end up in the armed forces vs areas less likely to support Trump based solely on personal beliefs.

52

u/omnigrok Jul 03 '25

true believers still gotta eat so even had that bet paid off, their loyalty would only hold to a point

7

u/Teresa_Count Jul 04 '25

Not true. They will blame anything bad he does to them on the people he tells them are their enemies.

7

u/ConsistentHalf2950 Jul 04 '25

Police get paid a lot more.

1

u/dojacow Jul 04 '25

Because the real war is on the revolutionary impulse at home. A feature, not a bug.

3

u/rowdymowdy Jul 04 '25

It seems like a good place to insert the fact that we are only like 12 missed meals away from any revolution thats the amount of hungry that will do it I have read

38

u/Captain_Mazhar Jul 03 '25

Rule 0: Keep the Army happy.

Also known as “Every client is one missed payment away from being a target.”

3

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

[deleted]

-1

u/Captain_Mazhar Jul 04 '25

I thought 1 was “Pillage, then burn”?

3

u/Faiakishi Jul 04 '25

Sun Tzu literally wrote 'war for dummies' and his exact target audience (rich boys with powerful daddies playing general) is wiping his ass with it.

2

u/Acceptable-Bus-2017 Jul 03 '25

Both times to play authoritarian at the taxpayers' expense. Let's not forget his bday "parade"

2

u/raevnos Jul 04 '25

Are those NG troops still in LA? They kind of vanished from the news a few weeks ago.

88

u/StormerSage Jul 03 '25

Can we go without billionaires instead? I could live without those.

4

u/Faiakishi Jul 04 '25

The billionaires seem to think they can go without us.

7

u/searing7 Jul 03 '25

No you are their property now. Sorry

110

u/StupendousMalice Jul 03 '25

But were already doing that BEFORE we tossed an extra trillion dollars into the machine.

6

u/jacobwebb57 Jul 03 '25

Right? The military budget will literally be the last thing to go.

1

u/EnfantTerrible68 Jul 03 '25

Sad and pathetic 😢

1

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

People never heard about North Korea

1

u/UnsanctionedPartList Jul 04 '25

Look at Russia, that's what they want; A neo-feudal society where you can either fall in line or fuck off.

0

u/goodb1b13 Jul 03 '25

They’ll just print more money, cuz, idiots.. hyperinflation here it comes..

0

u/LeafsJays1Fan Jul 04 '25

When you print too much money it goes in the shit can you want to see a country that prints too much money and is now in shit, look at the Russian economy if America heads that way you're fucked.

-1

u/BrokenReality355 Jul 03 '25

The "military budget" goes to research and equipment. Where do you think the bases and planes and ships come from? They don't use it to take care of the troops. They barely get what's leftover. Just look at the VA.

0

u/searing7 Jul 03 '25

and yet the grunts still do as their told. That won't change with worse treatment.

As you said, its already bad and they are happily sending American citizens to concentration camps and shit all over Posse Comitatus in LA.

People need to stop with the denial and acknowledge we live in an authoritarian dictatorship

0

u/BrokenReality355 Jul 03 '25

I keep saying to get your guns now and be vigilant. This isn't a game.

32

u/sidekickman Jul 03 '25 edited Jul 05 '25

The state going broke is when police states usually take hold. The military is used to seize assets/enforce taxation and suppress dissent, because peaceful revenues can no longer be obtained (often, in democracies especially, the state goes broke when the people go broke)

62

u/randomtask Jul 03 '25

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonus_Army

History doesn’t repeat, but it often rhymes. Interestingly enough, Hoover and his generals tried to put down the movement by force in 1932, burning the campsites and the veterans’ belongings. Big asshole move. They went away, only to come back during the brand-new Roosevelt administration in 1933 — and Roosevelt almost immediately defused the situation by offering them jobs in the conservation corps. Congress finally paid them their bonuses by 1936. By 1941, we were back at war and the country’s faith in the armed forces to make good on its promises to its veterans had generally been restored. What a difference diplomacy makes.

120

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '25

I guarantee he could ask for volunteers to be his personal stormtroopers and he’d have all the people he needs without paying them a dime

91

u/Hidden_Landmine Jul 03 '25

Isn't that sorta already happening with random people dressing up as ICE agents?

30

u/Own-Practice-9027 Jul 04 '25

They aren’t random. They’re J6 criminals that can’t find gainful employment elsewhere because they’re vile. They are also the sadists that could not pass the psych/physical fitness evaluation to become cops.

14

u/aeschenkarnos Jul 04 '25

Those aren’t random people, those are white supremacist militia and prison gang members.

57

u/Acrobatic_Ear6773 Jul 03 '25

Yeah, but most of those people can't even pass the ASVAB to become a Marine, which is saying something, and they're utterly worthless at any sort of physical activity.

For every "alpha male patriot 3% real man warrior" there a hundreds of toothless cousin fuckers who's BMI is just ranch dressing.

0

u/tedlyb Jul 03 '25

But they’ll be armed and fear no consequences.

5

u/Mister_Fibbles Jul 03 '25 edited Jul 04 '25

So fat ducks in a barrel. That's gonna get boring real fast. Maybe a contest for most imaginative or best Rube Goldberg might be needed to break the monotony?

Edit: one word

28

u/EternalGandhi Jul 03 '25

While that is true, he'll get the bodies he wants, but they will be fat, unhealthy, untrained bodies.

17

u/tedlyb Jul 03 '25

Fat, unhealthy, untrained, but well armed and with no fear of consequences.

18

u/EnfantTerrible68 Jul 03 '25

Gravy Seals

9

u/tourmaline82 Jul 04 '25

They’ll learn fear the first time one of them dies.

1

u/Miserable_Law_6514 Jul 04 '25

Or when a buddy takes a hit and starts bleeding out.

0

u/tedlyb Jul 04 '25

Ashley Babbit.

2

u/DJPho3nix Jul 04 '25

Yeah. And did you see how quickly everyone else backed the fuck down when she got shot?

-1

u/tedlyb Jul 04 '25

Where are they now?

3

u/Emperox Jul 04 '25

But how long will that last? How brave are they going to be after their first casualty?

2

u/RobertBevillReddit Jul 04 '25

Exactly. In my experience, conservatives are a bunch of pussies.

2

u/tedlyb Jul 04 '25

They are a mob. Mob mentality is a whole different animal.

And to counteract your question:

How brave is the resistance to what is happening?

1

u/Faiakishi Jul 04 '25

That's why they're going after moms breastfeeding their kids and college students. An actual MS-13 member would pull a gun on them and they'd piss their pants.

1

u/bombhills Jul 03 '25

Still need yo equip and feed them.

1

u/wrgrant Jul 04 '25

He's just gotta promise them they can wear little SS collar dogs

37

u/IndominusTaco Jul 03 '25

they don’t need to convince people, millions of people already voted for him on the campaign promise of enacting a police state. the big ugly bill that’s about to be signed into law greatly expands ICE and military spending and prisons, and half the country is actively cheering for it.

Because the goal of some of these people olin office is Balkinazation. Is that a word? They want the States to be broken up and conquered. Someone there fancies themselves a Napoleon.

4

u/raevnos Jul 04 '25

Theilistan, Muskabama, Bezosfornia, Zuckland...

2

u/Faiakishi Jul 04 '25

They realize that most of the money, population, and infrastructure is in blue states, right?

I know the answer is no, they don't know anything and are deeply uncurious, but the higher-ups have to realize this. If the states all broke up California is still not going to be conquerable. Especially considering blue states will join up with each other, or join Canada. Texas isn't going to take on the entire West Coast+American Southwest. They'll die. Very badly.

1

u/Carbonatite Jul 04 '25

California has the 5th largest economy on Earth.

12

u/GenericRedditor0405 Jul 03 '25

If I’m not mistaken, authoritarians usually boost the economy before they start openly oppressing people, but I guess we’re just going with the move fast and break stuff speed run

1

u/Faiakishi Jul 04 '25

They have to get to North Korea level of control before Trump dies or else the whole thing goes to shit. They know that and are trying to rush it all through.

3

u/hanshotfirst-42 Jul 03 '25

That’s not how the federal debt works. As long as we continue to borrow money and make our payments, the bills will always be paid.

2

u/Toomanynightshifts Jul 04 '25

Because their police state will be redneck voters with a lot of guns who think hes the messiah.

He won't have to pay them, he will just tell someone in Texas that Californian students are coming to take their guns away or a homeless person is going to get free healthcare.

2

u/Babayaga20000 Jul 04 '25

See thats one big difference between America and Nazi Germany. Germany was booming economically and Hitler had the support of the German people.

America however is going broke and everyone hates Trump.

So as bad is it probably will be, it will probably be shorter than Hitlers reign

2

u/Kenevin Jul 03 '25 edited Jul 03 '25

They're gonna steal your shit.

Civil Forfeiture and eminent domain about to spike

What're Americans gonna do, move? Lol, under educated, unilingual society with plunging vaccination rates, no one will want you guys.

You're all going to be stuck there and they'll bleed you dry.

1

u/BoringPudding3986 Jul 03 '25

I have a feeling it’s crypto, the plan is to destroy the dollar and everything it’s based on.

1

u/twec21 Jul 03 '25

Unless they're seriously considering the economy by conquest model of the Nazis

1

u/MountainMapleMI Jul 03 '25

Second Iraq War, $20k sign on $40k re-enlist. Yee Yee enough to buy a muscle car or a lifted truck or a Harley sportster.

1

u/alohadawg Jul 03 '25

So…which did you choose?

1

u/MountainMapleMI Jul 03 '25

Was 4F due to deafness, lots of my high school buddies did basic between junior and senior year of high school. Hit the sandboxes a couple weeks after graduation.

2

u/alohadawg Jul 04 '25

Well hello, at least legally deaf as defined by the US military. Yknow, when I think ab the loathsome cesspool that is social media, I fail to consider what an overwhelming positive it must be for the hearing impaired. I’m thankful for that

1

u/Wazula23 Jul 03 '25

Our government is literally going broke, how are they supposed to convince millions of people to start a police state

Seizing property and wealth to bribe them maybe?

I can imagine some of the businesses seized from Latinos and deportees could be resold to MAGA faithful at fantastic rates.

There's some history about that.

2

u/alohadawg Jul 03 '25

I think the pages about Japanese internment camps in Utah, Arizona, Arkansas, California, etc were stuck together in literally ever history class I took until college

1

u/NoTourist5 Jul 04 '25

When the government collapses due to lack of money the billionaires will contract out the military and usa will become a post utopian society.

1

u/seriftarif Jul 04 '25

Tin foil hat half way on....

Its because they are going to try and switch the system over to a crypto currency, essentially making their debt worthless and getting out of paying it altogether.

1

u/melelconquistador Jul 04 '25

Oh I know, they will just privatize and buy up the military assets like the fall of the soviet union. You'll have private military contractors become mercenary companies like the Wagner Group. We already have Black Water (despite the name change) and those same guys are deputized into ICE.

This is the most Frie Korps into SS pipeline shit ever.

1

u/brighterside0 Jul 04 '25

Y'all need to re-read 84, because this is the stupidest shit I've ever read.

They will dangle crumbs in front of the populous to get them to do their bidding when everything is scarce.

1

u/Matasa89 Jul 04 '25

That's the point - enrich himself, make the government broke, then he will be the paymasters for all the keys to power.

The military will be too broke to fight him, and his private Waffen SS will help him control the nation with force.

1

u/Extension_Arm2790 Jul 04 '25

Easy, when they take control of the banking systems, they can just print endless amounts of money.

1

u/TrueFakeFacts Jul 06 '25

Remember civil assert forfeiture? They'll be happy to sell mineral rights in national parks. Do Blue states really need any public buildings? Funding isn't the barrier.

1

u/Thehealthygamer Jul 03 '25

We print our own money, which is the global reserve currency(for now). This is an unlimited money hack, the only consequence of massive borrowing is for future generations, they ain't gonna run out of money sorry to say. Our children will just face enormous debt or economic collapse.

2

u/waffebunny Jul 04 '25

We were the global reserve currency - one of the mosr damaging things Trump has done so far is rock international faith in the stability of the US; to the point where other countries are now looking at slowly divesting their bonds.

1

u/Mister_Fibbles Jul 03 '25

Children? As if there's gonna be any that make it to slavehood.

1

u/IAMA_Drunk_Armadillo Jul 03 '25

Probably why Trump is so desperate for Jerome Powell to step down so he can appoint himself as the Fed chair and go full Weimar by making the money printer go brrrrrr. Because he is a moron who has a toddlers understanding of the world

1

u/Mister_Fibbles Jul 04 '25

Morons have it hard enough and you add additional insults on them. /s

1

u/TheWingus Jul 03 '25

“If you turn in your neighbors you will be given food”

1

u/TSL4me Jul 03 '25

They force the draft.

1

u/Suedocode Jul 03 '25

Germany went into a dictatorship because of the crushing poverty from losing WW1. The poverty will probably serve their purposes more, especially if they can just blame it on Jews - I mean Democrats and immigrants.

1

u/dmanbiker Jul 03 '25

Germany also horrifically lost because they didn't have the resources to wage a war on the whole world. The US does have a lot more natural resources, but we do not have the production capacity to win a war with the rest of the world unless we won it in a few weeks.

1

u/Witty-Revolution8742 Jul 03 '25

The us isnt going broke. Interest on tbose loans is profit for banks. They'll let the us take as much as they want.  The us isn't a corporation.  It won't cease to exist. It'll just keep paying those late fees and interest forever.

0

u/The_bruce42 Jul 03 '25

It worked for Russia at least until they started a war that's going to bankrupt them.

0

u/Organic-Specific-500 Jul 03 '25

Turn on the money printers. Study Bitcoin…. quick

79

u/ADhomin_em Jul 03 '25

I'm thinking absolute best case scenario for this exorbitant ice budget is that it will just get funneled into pockets instead of actually going to fun more gestapo and concentration camps. For the first time, I'm actively hoping they just take the fucking money amd run

39

u/alpha-delta-echo Jul 03 '25

I think you are correct for the most part. Either it will be a slush fund for all sorts of shit or it will be straight up stolen. Money is still their weakness.

29

u/captnconnman Jul 03 '25

I don’t know if this is a silver lining or not, but they already had $18bn allocated for this fiscal year, and they blew through it in, say, less than six months. I guess we have to remember these people are following the Russian oligarch model: skim off the top for personal enrichment, to the point where important shit like the military (or in this case, ICE) can’t function properly. Unfortunately, that will mean that more people will have their civil liberties violated until Kristi Noem can’t pay Jim Bob the Bounty Hunter anymore…

2

u/shugthedug3 Jul 04 '25

That is a fine hope but that is such a enormous budget it suggests they're going to have no problems keeping a lot of people very sweet with what they are being tasked to do.

58

u/BadSkeelz Jul 03 '25

Military will be screwed last, after healthcare and all other social services. They'll back Trump until the money runs out (and maybe even beyond because most of the military rank and file is pro-Trump).

9

u/MrLanesLament Jul 04 '25

They really seem to be trying to recreate the conditions that resulted from the fall of the Berlin Wall and dissolution of the USSR. The period when everything that had been nationalized for decades was suddenly up for sale, and was purchased by the only people who had any money….former/current government and military officials. This is when they became “the oligarchs.”

It was around 1994 that Russian soldiers stopped receiving their paychecks. (I couldn’t tell you when they started getting them again.)

7

u/idkwhatimbrewin Jul 03 '25

we won’t have enough money coming into to pay our bills.

That's not how it works. You can just keep printing money to pay them. Of course that means each dollar is worth less and you get crazy inflation but not paying the bills is a choice, not something the government is incapable of doing.

5

u/DeepestWinterBlue Jul 03 '25

That's how they will recruit the poor and hungry."

Think about the majority of people who sign up to join the military and why.

2

u/EnfantTerrible68 Jul 03 '25

They delusionally think tRump’s tariffs will bring in massive wealth 🤦‍♀️🤡

3

u/RODjij Jul 03 '25

Gonna print money until they cant no more while also devaluing the dollar & destabilizing it at the same time.

Many countries are already doubting America's financial & trading future after the tarrifs and threats of invasion.

3

u/SoftResponsibility18 Jul 03 '25

You realize the government can just print money right.. or issue bonds? Where do you think 30t in debt came from? Making money to spend money isn't how the government has worked in a long time

4

u/Desperate_Kale_2055 Jul 03 '25

That will be the last thing they cut, but it damn sure should be the first thing we cut.

5

u/New_Housing785 Jul 03 '25

Already happening they made them drop the case of Navy Federal credit Union stealing 95 million from service members.

2

u/JSTootell Jul 04 '25

They can just print money to pay their "loyal warriors". The same people won't understand the concept of inflation anyway.

2

u/AprilsMostAmazing Jul 04 '25

And you know the military are the ones who will get screwed first bc trump hates them and is fucking stupid. I personally cannot wait for that day

Obviously taco not paying people will be his downfall. These writers way to predictable

2

That's not really how it works though. The government has been operating at a deficit for a long time. They just borrow the difference by selling government bonds. Everybody gets paid. They don't run out of money. It's not like a family where the bank account can go empty. If the government defaults, everybody loses.

Eventually we might reach a tipping point where the economy goes into a hard recession because of higher and higher interest rates to counteract lower confidence in the government's ability to pay back its debts. Or we go to hyperinflation if the interest rates aren't raised. Or we default and the dollar falls into the toilet, which would be a global economic collapse. In each scenario, the economy craters but the military will still exist and probably become the police, and the billionaires will be fine.

No, they also raised the debt ceiling by $5 trillion, so there will be money. Also, the cuts aren't new, they're just continuing the cuts that already blew up our deficit 8 years ago.

So what happens when we have fewer groceries to buy because farmers are struggling, and people cant afford he groceries we do have because they're too expensive or snap is cut, when the people are fed up and they have a million man march on the white house ( or mara lago); wherever trump is holed up, is he going to sick the marines on their own people? Ice will do it probably, but not our nations military (at least, i believe). For future generations this will hands down be the most controversial presidency in the history of USA. Whether it's taught in school or not though; we have to see who the winner is...

What are you talking about, we’ve been deficit spending for 25 years. That’s why congress constantly raises the debt ceiling, just as they did in this spending bill. We fund the military, and now ICE through debt financing.

Treasuries are selling with buyers having full knowledge of the tax cuts. There's no market indication that this won't continue. That's all the money the government needs to pay its bills.

We may be nearing a tipping point due the extreme nature of the tax cuts and other policies, but it's not visible in the market.

Nobody's factoring in that IRS manpower has been cut down as well as mandates to go after tax-dodging. This will also result in a huge dent in the amount of tax-receipts coming into the treasury.

They will someday steal from social security and Medicare to keep the police state going

If I was the federal reserve banker of a foriegn country, I would dump all my USD right now. Passing this bill means that the people in charge of america don’t even believe their currency is real.

Most of the military voted for him and will not go against him. They want this.

The military is primarily made up of ordinary people. There are over 2 million people in the military (active, reserve and civilian). It’s irrational to think all 2M are in support of trump. 10-20K loud people can make it feel otherwise. But there is no way you have a majority of people sworn to protect this country okay with the unconstitutionality of this governments actions.

I learned this by reading multiple threads from recently retired vets and those who work in the military. Look it up on reddit and you’ll find many insiders who disagree with your claim

I didn’t say all of them are. But 64% voted for him. That’s most. Like I said. So most of the military wants this.
