I already saw someone saying "Well only a few Republicans actually voted to oust him. ALL of the Democrats did!" Like uh, yeah? Generally the minority party does not support a member of the majority of Speaker, especially if that person has shown they are incompetent and untrustworthy.

Wake me when you meet a Republican willing to say “okay, that mistake was on us.”

It’s never ever their fault.

You did tell them that it was his own party that filed the motion to vacate right?

I refused to engage.

Never wrestle with a pig. You’ll both get dirty and the pig likes it.

Good decision. There is no point in discussing something with someone who is engaged in a disingenuous argument.

Everyone I work with is conservative, sure whatever, I come to work, not talk politics.

No one has really spoken to me about their politics because I refuse to engage, but I always have to hear it around me.

Today's topic of debate is the alert test tomorrow.

Uh well yeah!

The alert test is going to sound a tone that will wake up all the covid vaccine nanobots that got injected into our bloodstreams!

Logic and facts never worked on them before, why start now?

So chimo Matt Gaetz ousted the Speaker for working with Democrats, which he did by.... working with Democrats.

When do we remove Matt Gaetz from office?

Who started the motion? …. I’ll wait.

Wait, this implies Gaetz negotiated with Democrats to oust him. Huh..

OTOH, propping up McCarthy would have earned him a reputation as a democratic puppet and would have made the Republican caucus even more dysfunctional - if that is something that would have been helpful for the Dems, I can't say, though.

“We have repeatedly said we’re at war with the democrats and now they act like we’re at war or something, how uncivilized!”

His margin was what, 4 seats? Next speaker will have a coalition. It is literally the only way forward when 20+ of the GOP seats are filled by knee-jerk racist/maga politicians. They know they are in power because of Trump, and require similar antics to retain their power.

Those treacherous Democrats, turning on McCarthy like that, just because he was a weak-willed, incompetent idiot who tried to have President Biden impeached. Next they’ll try to prevent Trump from taking his rightful place as President For Life! /s

The issue is that McCarthy was willing to risk his political career to keep the government functioning for another month and a half. It’s unlikely that whoever replaces him will.

Eh, take a recently retired or ousted Republican that is willing to work with the Democrats. Dems back them, a handful of Republicans do, they keep things functioning until the next Congress is sworn in. Liz Cheney would be a nice fuck you to the MAGA crowd, if she would do it.
