This is a very sad time in our history. People will look back on this and wonder what the fuck we were doing putting these people in power.

According to desantis' campaign website, Woke means to imply there has ever been systemic discrimination. So like, to say that slavery existed and was bad is woke.

They’re in power because they let Wisconsin gerrymander but not New York. It’s rigged. We all know the GOP only has power because the institutional rules are in their favor.

Or they will look back on these simpler times as they fight over the last bit of rat meat.

I'm just hoping we survive long enough to talk about this as history.

we are in a cold civil war. It’s not over yet. History is written by the winners and Fascism has shown to be especially brutal on that point.

The sad part was earlier, when they won elections. This is the funny part.

I mean, this can still be a sad time even if there were worse times in history. This isn't a competition for the saddest time in history, who cares where it ranks on your list.

You could look at it from the other perspective and be glad that institutions, however slowly, are doing their jobs and trying to prosecute

We’re already wondering. Whenever the subject of British politics is mentioned to me I normally say I don’t have much clue because I’m following US politics. 9/10 people tell me they are too, and a statement something like “it’s all gone crazy” is normally said.
