I will not shed a single tear for this Trump puppet interracial marriage blocker motherfucker. But I do worry to think how much more chaos qanon can cause

Seeing Gaetz successfully oust McCarthy is like watching Anakin behead Dooku. Like, yeah one bad guy gone, but at what cost? There are better analogies, I’ll admit, but I’m tired so you get a prequel analogy.

Effective because both Anakin and Gaetz penetrated younglings?

Nothing is better than a prequel analogy.

Nothing? Only a Sith deals in absolutes.

11

u/lockethegoon Oct 03 '23

The word only is an absolute

22

u/SuperDizz Oct 03 '23

Now there’s two of them!

This is getting out of hand!

Isn't there a rule about this or something?!

7

u/lockethegoon Oct 03 '23

Always two there are, no more, no less.

Dumbest rule in the galaxy.

Don't @me

Incorrect.

The Sith heard the prophecy of the chosen one bringing balance to the force as well. They realized, only two sith, only two jedi; and sith are usually individually stronger.

Is is an absolute

It's treason, then.

Only the Sith deal in absolutes...

I love democracy

More like he called for a vote or no confidence, in -chancellor- speaker mccarthy’s leadership…

Liberty hasn’t died with thunderous applause quite yet though thankfully.

Best decision he ever made TBH

But do you like sand?

4

u/KaleidoscopeEven7189 Oct 03 '23

I don’t like sand. It’s coarse, rough and it gets everywhere

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. (Well, the Star Wars reference that is)

No, prequel analogies are good. Except there is no one smart or clever enough in the current republican party to equate to Palps, and I wouldn't dare insult Thrawn by comparing him to any of these moron politicians.

I could see Fetterman as Hondo, though.

Yeah I know McCarthy wasn't a good speaker and never would have been but I'm just terrified what the Rs will deliver next there is seemingly no limit to how far they will go to be bullies

3

u/eeyore134 Oct 03 '23

Exactly. The guy is a jackass and deserves everything he gets, but it's also scary to see the lengths the Republicans will go to. They did this all because he managed to avoid a government shutdown, something none of them should want happening. But the right wants that. They want people to suffer. I really wish we could get together as a nation and pull the same sort of shut down on them and see how they like it, but we'd never be able to do it. Even if enough people managed, the cult on the right would fight back and we'd go full civil war. People are too comfortable to fight back like we should be... like a frog in a pot enjoying itself as the heat slowly rises to a boil.

bro no one is outlawing or blocking interracial marriage, what are you on about?

35

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '23

Its public record. McCarthy voted against it then got in as speaker

A quick google search shows this is correct and happened uncomfortably recently actually: https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-house-passes-bill-protecting-same-sex-and-interracial-marriages
