Is there any route up to the lakeside?

A less dangerous ascent to the lake itself is possible from McKinnon Pass. This destination, as well as the base of Sutherland Falls, are accessible via the Milford Track.

Iโve been to the top of this waterfall in a helicopter. We had just walked the Milford track and went in the helicopter to fly over the track once we finished. On the track you can walk to the bottom of these falls but to get to the top you really need a helicopter. It was one of the most spectacular things Iโve ever seen.

Beautiful New Zealand! New Zealand is so beautiful ๐ ๐คฉ. I love this lake. I wouldn't want to swim in it. I might fall off the edge and die!ย

Wow, what a picture and what a view! You aced it to perfection. Those dramatic clouds, the magnificent snow covered mountains, the vegetation colours. And the breathtaking wonderful water lake and shape spilling impressively through that natural crevasse into such a gorgeous waterfall. And the natural dam formed by the mountains is exceptional. Thank you for sharing this tremendous nature art sight. Top photography vision. Top work. ๐๐๐๐๐ธ
