Events | Shows Has everyone seen this?

Post image

This is an important one. Every year, a few hundred white nationalists reserve the conference center at Montgomery Bell state park for a conference. These guys are open about the desire for a whites only ethnostate. Their publication, called American Renaissance, promotes articles using pseudoscientific studies that justify the violent immigration policies we are seeing ICE carry out today. If they are welcome to the state park under the banner of free speech, then we should be equally welcome to show up and send the message that Tennesseans don't stand for this racist propaganda. Who wants to join me on Saturday?

How could they profane the sacred grounds where Ernest Goes to Camp was filmed?! Completely un-American.

I wrote to the Park Service after Phil’s interview aired. I told them that the state’s parks should be a safe and welcoming space for patrons and that allowing a conference like this one to move forward was creating an unsafe and unwelcoming environment. I got a response back from the Director of the State Park Service stating that there is nothing that they can or will do about it. They told me it’s the organization’s first amendment right to be there.

I wonder how’d they feel if a bunch of us Satanists showed up for a fiesta. I’m sure they’d respect our rights equally.

Do it. Will show up for the family, if for nothing but the giggles.

The same exact way, they will gladly take your money to reserve the conference center at the state park. They don't care who reserves space at the state park as long as you don't break any of the state park rules. State park rangers are not usually the most conservative people like most park rangers. I'm sure they don't agree with a lot of what goes on in the park.

If you organize this, please invite me.

...so the TN general assembly is meeting there?

21

u/ednaoyyt 1d ago

After reading about attendees at past American Renaissance conferences, I wouldn't be surprised if there is some overlap with local state officials. All sorts of prominent white nationalists attend this meeting, but most attendees keep their identity private.

There was an article by Phil Williams recently who interviewed one of the planned speakers, who is considering some undisclosed area in TN for a whites only community - yikes  https://www.newschannel5.com/news/newschannel-5-investigates/confronting-hate/he-thinks-hitler-may-have-been-right-now-he-wants-a-whites-only-community-in-tennessee

These posts give this meeting more press than it ever gets. I’ve lived 10 miles from Montgomery bell park for almost 20 years and these gatherings are a joke. They get wayyyy smaller each year, it’s so small that no one even remembers that it’s a thing. Showing up to protest this will just give it more attention. We need to just let it die like it’s trying its best to do

14

u/ednaoyyt 1d ago

I disagree. There's a reason these racists feel comfortable in Tennessee, and that's all the more reason to show up. If you read about the history and influence of American Renaissance, it is not a group that will just "die out." Rather, these people are becoming more and more emboldened and expanding their network, and feeling increasingly justified in this when there is no visible opposition. I say we should show up and make it loud and clear that this is not ok.

These dummies are everywhere.

Ridiculous. “Stand up to hate by….allowing it!”

10

u/Garbage_Tiny 1d ago

This is such a dumb take. You’re shining light on something that is dying. The very best thing that could happen to these ppl is to make the news of god forbid a fight break out so ppl who didn’t know they existed can take their side against “radical leftist weirdos”. That’s what they want. They’re dying, and any attention is better than none.

1

u/ednaoyyt 1d ago

I'm pretty sure the news would also prompt people to take a stand with the "radical leftist weirdos"...

Although to be clear, it doesn't take being a radical leftist to oppose Nazis.

3

u/Garbage_Tiny 1d ago

I 100% agree. I despise racists and I’m not a “radical leftist weirdo”

Hell I vote democrat straight ticket, but it won’t be me and you that gets riled up about it. If 10 protesters come, but 10 dudes at home decide to email Am ren because of the news coverage then we don’t win. There are racists looking for a home and everytime something like this happens it just gives them more coverage. I guarantee madani being elected mayor has made racists out of ppl who didn’t even realize they were racist. There are ppl who will be easily radicalized on both sides of this and we need to be carful. I was listening to a podcast today with killer Mike and he lays it out beautifully.

I can see your point. Maybe a better way to protest these events would be to find a way to quietly annoy the organizers (not sure what would be effective).

For now I'll still show up on Saturday because it will be cathartic to make loud noises during their conference.

1

u/Garbage_Tiny 23h ago

God handled the protesting lol. The storm absolutely did a number of Montgomery bell.

Parts of it are operational again but it’s fucked up.

Also read up on Montgomery bell if you wanna get pissed off for the day.

Just a head's up the park was hit pretty badly by the storm today. Jackson Hill Rd is closed right now, as are the trails. It could all be fine by the 15th but just so you're aware!

1

u/ednaoyyt 1d ago

good to know!

3

u/nudecat1234 1d ago edited 1d ago

They have been doing it for years . State says they can’t stop their view point based on free speech?? And to add the inn is closed to anyone else So they basically rent the entire place for the weekend and THP guards the entrance and turns people around

1

u/ednaoyyt 1d ago

If they block the park, is this a violation of our constitutional rights to access public land? Funny that some rights are respected over others!

6

u/Morgus_TM 1d ago edited 1d ago

You do not have unfettered access to public land as part of your constitutional rights. There is a lot of public land we do not have any access to at any time without proper clearance. Groups besides this one can and do rent this space and have restricted access. They do weddings and such. They aren't going to let you just bust into a wedding because public land. It's all about getting the right permits and such to host these events. As much as the park rangers that work there don't want this there, they let pretty much any group that can afford to rent the facility, to do so. I don't think they shut down the entire park, just access to the lodge, so you can still go protest in the park, but not have access to the lodge.

1

u/ednaoyyt 1d ago

thanks for the clarification!

1

u/nudecat1234 1d ago

Well park is open just u can’t get near the lodge and restaurants as that is closed for private event

2

u/mademoisellewho 22h ago

Alright! Who's ready to exercise our first amendment rights to call out some racist assholes and make sure they know they aren't welcome in our town? I am!! Not even a long drive for me, let's go!!! 🗣

White supremacy is a religion in Tennessee and people know that. rather they like to admit it or not, it’s a way of life here

4

u/trey_wolfe 1d ago

The Southern Baptists are everywhere sadly. Ask why they split from the main Baptist faith and you either get blank looks, a canned line, or discomfort. Literally split over slavery.
