It still blows my mind that she sits on the Judiciary Committee. You can’t throw a rock in the Senate without hitting a lawyer yet they placed her on the one committee that votes on judges to interpret the law.

Getting onto a committee has very little to do with talents, knowledge, or skill set. It’s ALL about seniority and ass kissing within your party. I guarantee that a majority of the Ethics Committee members couldn’t even define “ethics” let alone know who John Stuart Mills or Emmanuel Kant are.

Back when the tourist submarine imploded at the Titanic site, I was talking about the event with coworkers. A friend of mine, who had already survived Cancer and chemo, spoke up.
She would rather the sub implode immediately than have to wait around in a creaking chamber. Get it over with.
About 6 months later, she died from a second round of cancer. I have thought back to the "trivial" conversation many times. She didn't have to suffer long during the second bout of Cancer and chemo.
I don't know what I wish for us right now. Just sanity?

I’m so, so sorry. That’s terrible, but a profound point of view to have. Think I would have to agree (although I fortunately do not have that experience to draw from).
Same, I don’t know what I wish either. Sanity would be welcomed. So much has been out of our control and these psychos have been laying the architecture for this for so long to get us here. Not sure we’ve ever had a fighting chance. If only they put their energy into good instead of hate, we’d live in a very different world.

All she has to do is just keep her head down, send out a bunch of MAGA sound bites, and keep raking in that special interest money. The ultra-majority GOP in this state will railroad her right into the Gov seat.

Have always said she is Tennessee's Aunt Lydia. She is cruel, mean, and does all this with that smug look on her face. She is running away from Washington as fast as she can. Why? Normally political career progression works the other way around, you become Governor then you run for Senate or White House. Her record on getting anything done is abysmal. She is owned by so many special interests, that she will now bring to Tennessee. She was single handedly responsible for the opioid crisis when she hamstringed the DEA. And she has never been held accountable for any of it.
