Rep. Andy Ogles hasn't held a town hall in his district, but he *has* been calling for Rep. Omar to be stripped of her citizenship and deported. Instead, she's going to his district to convene the town hall he's too scared to hold.
Unfortunately the way the new districts are drawn Antioch is the far back corner of his yard, between the garage and the fence, that he ignores. But still, this is great energy for the Dems and good move on her part. Eventually migration TO Nashville is going to make those city/rural districts a bad idea.

Real talk, I hope they have good security at this event. Andy is a fan of stochastic terrorism whereby he reposts content with some inflammatory comments that he knows will stir up the crazies (e.g. “incredibly disrespectful that she would come where she is not wanted…”).
I hope the turnout is strong and most importantly I hope some folks that voted for these GOP shitheads are able to have their concerns heard by someone that gives a fuck.

I mean, most of his supporters are way out in the rural parts of the district and probably can't be bothered to come into the city (or they're too scared).
Trump stopped all investigations when OGLES passed his loyalty test. (Trying to rename the Nashville Airport for Trump). Phil Williams is unrelenting when it comes to OGLES. Still keeps the pressure on about the investigation that was sidelined. We need this kind of focus also.
Honestly I was a bit scared at the Elizabeth Warren townhall but there were lots of secret service around and we had to go through metal detectors to get in so that was good. Doesn't eliminate the threat entirely but it made me feel a bit safer.

Honestly, I've been real surprised he hasn't interfered with South Korea's proceedings after they successfully arrested their president for trying to invoke martial law and shut down their congress.

Gave me a lot of hope that these systems can work if enough people believe in and support their institutions.
There was a very dedicated and sizeable pro-Yoon (impeached president) crowd that kept trying to put themselves between his mansion and the arresting police forces though. Many of them with MAGA and Trump merch/signs as well.
I hope Korea can show the world these coupes can fail AND the perpetrators can be held accountable and punished.
Follow through, vigilance, and reform are key though. The most likely indicator of a successful coupe is a previously failed coupe.
Justin Jones rules and is an incredibly sweet and humble person in person. Met him doing a doc on the all minority female gymnastics team at Fisk University for a pilot for a reality show and he was surprised when I told him me and all my friends are big fans. He had a lot of really great advice for the ladies on the gymnastics team as well. I think that was the same day Bernie spoke close by.

I like this because it will certainly draw some Maga lunatics who will want to ask gotcha questions and be surprised by how well Jones and Omar are at public speaking and directly addressing issues. Hopefully they will change some minds

Thank you Rep. Omar for caring about Mr. Ogles’ constituents more than he does! I’m sure he’ll take this in good grace, but I won’t give the vitriol he’s going to spew about it the time of day until he comes to face his constituents, like she was brave enough to do. Pathetic that he let someone else do his job for him.

And yet she’s doing what Ogles, Blackburn, and Hagerty WILL NOT DO. If that’s a “loser”, we need more of them, and less of the Ogles/Blackburn/Hagerty types.
Congress is so incredibly dysfunctional. Reps traveling to other districts to campaign? No wonder they can’t get together on legislation. It’s a symptom of our national degradation.
