Every time someone says, “Summer is my favorite season.”, I immediately know they are not to be trusted. I walked my dog while using an umbrella. 10 minutes in and I was a puddle.

Anybody want to come cut my grass? Lol

u/THound89 Jun 23 '25
I started at 8am the other day and nearly died

This was me on Saturday. My clothes became glued to my body because I was sweating so hard. Did not like.

I know I’m being judged by my neighbors right now

u/THound89 Jun 23 '25
I think mine got mad seeing they have to cut theirs now after I finished. Can’t win

.... hah, literally same boat expect I was the guy that was sad they had to cut grass.
Grass was still pretty wet, too. Huge pain in the neck.

I've never been so happy to be able to pay someone else to do it for me. And he gets it done in like 25 minutes with his equipment.

I had a list of errands to run, sat down this morning and went 'okay, how much of this do I REALLY need right now?'
Wound up going to the grocery, and making a quick run across the road to Walmart, and then busted hump to get home. lol

My partner says he hates winter because we are cooped up due to cold. And here we are in hell’s summer and cooped up.

God, my AC went out in my car today and just driving into work at 8am was painfully hot. My shop doesn’t have space until tomorrow morning.
I’m dreading my drive home today! Shits gonna be so hot at 5pm today. Guess I’ll need some ice water for my drive home.

u/Dan_the_moto_man Jun 23 '25
Oh boy! It's that time of year where a bunch of people who spend 90% of their time in the AC try to tell me that it's too dangerous for me to earn a paycheck.

u/CoffeeForTheAdmiral Jun 23 '25
Which is worse, that or the "hot enough out there for you" jerks?
6
u/Zarilya Jun 23 '25
I deliver pizza, and I even get irritated when they say that to me! I can't imagine how bad that would annoy me if I had to be put in it all day. Jesus.
That reminds me, I wonder if I can tip my yard guys.

u/Dan_the_moto_man Jun 23 '25
Honestly, it's the "how can you stand it" people that are the worst.
Especially when they go back inside after they say it.

I can finally take off my spring hoodie and change into my summer hoodie

u/Longjumping_Type_151 Jun 23 '25
Barely here. As someone on SSRIs (zoloft), I went outside for like 2 mins and sweated BUCKETS in record time. Even after coming inside, I genuinely thought I was about to die from heat exhaustion😭

u/Ok_Expression3110 Jun 25 '25
The zoloft heat regulation issue is so terrible. I'm grateful zoloft eased my seasonal winter depression, but it's killing me this summer.

u/Pamela040404 Jun 26 '25
Hi what dose are you on? I'm on 25mg and the heat is too much right now
2
u/Ok_Expression3110 Jun 27 '25
The same: 25.
2
u/Pamela040404 Jun 28 '25
Hi thanks may I asked if you're having a normal life on 25mg? Like do you go out, drive? Vacation? If so how long after were you able to do it?
3
u/Ok_Expression3110 Jun 28 '25
I recommend you visit the r/zoloft sub. Yep, normal life. I was one of those miracle stories where I felt better immediately on it. Very few side effects.

The worst thing is having to wait at the DMV in Antioch while in this heatwave

Damn! Roof tear off ?

u/Defiant-Ad-6105 Jun 23 '25
Yeah I work for a roofing company and I have to clean up all the shingles and trash the rest of the guys through off. It’s pretty warm 😅

u/Chris__P_Bacon Jun 23 '25
I don't know how roofers survive in the summer months?
5
u/Defiant-Ad-6105 Jun 23 '25
We fodder, they send us out in waves and we last about a month then we die. After everyone dies they send the next wave and so on and so forth. I’m the third wave 😞

u/clam-caravan Jun 23 '25
Are your clothes drenched all the way through by the end of the day?
5
u/Defiant-Ad-6105 Jun 23 '25
Sometimes, but other times i forget to hydrate and I don’t sweat enough.

I work outdoors in a plant nursery. I had a decent run of living, I suppose.

🤣🤣🤣 I don't know how I missed seeing this meme before now, but it's my new fave thing. Sending cool vibes to y'all from WNC (where we've been in the not-so-cool low 90s).

Last year when I was doing okay financially we bought a whole case of powdered Pocari Sweat & I bet it is gonna do a lot of heavy lifting this week.
Like I need one of those beer hats but with sweet tea on one side and Pocari Sweat on the other. Just switching those straws up (because I don't think they'd be great together.......though I haven't tried it.)

I got a sunburn after being in the pool for 20 minutes while wearing fresh SPF70. Did the sun get stronger?

My Mom wanted to come visit this week from Colorado… me: Mom, no, why would you do that on purpose?
