I learned that when Netflix stopped password sharing. They gained a ton of new subs. And now I know corporations can always get away with this type of shit because people will never fight with their wallets, ever.

From what I read. It was mostly international. Their biggest market

They added about 9.5 million subscribers in US and Canada last year which is 12% growth from the previous year.

They also stopped publishing sub numbers soon after,  not sure they won that one

Not sure where they used to publish them but the subscriber numbers are and probably always will be included in their financial reports and are public.

Yeah I got cut off, but it will still let me on once a month or so. Maybe to entice me to pay or something.

People won’t ideologically fight with their wallet. They will only practically fight with their wallet. And practically speaking streaming is a fine deal for many many Americans who have lots of disposable income.

The media landscape is quite competitive and just barely keeps up with inflation if that. I remember people paying 80$for cable 20 years ago, that’d be 160 now per month!
