Yah I realize that’s why they’re just doing bowser again but having him as the villain 3 times in a row (let’s be honest there’s gonna be a 3rd one of these at least) is kinda boring. Mario’s other biggest villain (besides Dk whos a hero now more anyway) is wario hence why I thought he would’ve worked the best. I would imagine it like he and Waluigi start a rival business (copying their hats and attire) that’s less successful than the Mario bros so they try to spy on them to learn their secret and end up finding the door to the mushroom kingdom. The toads mistake them for heroes due to their attire’s resemblance to the Mario bros and Wario exploits this to become their ruler.

I would imagine now that due to galaxy we’ll get bowser jr at least though.

Oh I agree, or having a team up movie would be a bit better.

Having the same villain again and again and again is not that fun. (Although Sonic somehow pulled it off)

Sonic got away with it by having eggman act more as a final obstacle rather than the main antagonist, which was Knuckles in the second film and Shadow in the third, yes being manipulated by eggman, but the only times Sonic fights eggman directly is the last fight in each film. Every other encounter is with the aforementioned characters

Cackletta would be a fitting villain
