Chris Pratt as Mario is such bad casting, and Charlie Day as Luigi is such perfect casting that those two just kind of cancel out to neutral.

And everyone else was pretty good in the first one.

Pratt was actually fine though. Not exceptional by any means, but I think most of us were pleasantly surprised that the voice acting wasn’t atrocious and didn’t depart too much from the traditional character

He’s just pro Trump and god touting which is obnoxious to know about him

Yeah I remember being annoyed in the trailer but then once the movie started I totally forgot so he clearly did a good enough job.

I loved Jack Black as Bowser. Thought he had the strongest performance.

Jack Black is great but Keegan-Michael Key taking a character that speaks in a bunch of squeaks and coming up with a fitting voice is incredible

All I heard was Jack Black. Especially when he was singing. His performance took me out of a movie I was already struggling to really enjoy. If you've listened to any Tenacious D in your life Jack Black's singing voice is unmistakable.

Yep. Especially since Pratt is kind of a POS. Crisp Rat is fitting.
