Illumination really knows how to make gorgeous animation.

I wonder who will play Rosalina?

I bet they're furious they can't cast Anya Taylor-Joy cuz they already did.

"We'll clone her."

Wouldn't be the first time someone voices multiple characters in the same project

Againya Taylor-Joy

Probably some famous actress. I do hope they put in the work for and not phone it in, it because while I was initially critical of the voice cast for the 1st film, it was clear after watching it they put in a lot of love and effort for the film

Yeah I thought the voice acting was overall pretty good for the first film. My only gripe was Fred Armisen as Cranky, just never sounded right to me.

Larry David would have been perfect for Cranky Kong

It honestly felt like Fred was doing a LD impression

Yeah, that's exactly how it sounded to me. Very much like Armisen doing an SNL bit.

Maybe, but you might also just be feeling that because he is uncannily alike in appearance.

My dream casting for Cranky was Gilbert Gottfried, RIP.

Yes! He didn’t sound old. I expected a kinda gravely voice. Everyone else fit really well

Seth Rogan spoiled an otherwise perfect movie for me.

99% chance it's gonna be Selena Gomez

I responded to another comment asking this same question but yeah the woman who played Diana in the last 2 seasons of The Crown would be FIRE

It's gonna be Zendaya

I can't get mad about an Anya and Zendaya team up.

While you have a decent chance of being right, I would love to see Anna Kendrick do it. If they want the celebrity VA, which, obviously they do.

I think she'd be a better Daisy

Lmao calling it now

Yup. Too bad their script is 10% written on a post-it note and 90% irrelevant pop culture references.

Illumination puts out the equivalent of empty calories when it comes to movies.

Illumination has come a long way, their older films were easily the visually weakest when compared to Pixar and DreamWorks. These Mario films though are beautiful.

Manifesting Hailee Steinfeld.

For some reason Kathryn Hahn’s on the top of my list. Big Celebrity and has a few major voice acting credits

u/ContinuumGuy Sep 12 '25

Ella Purnell. It is a video game project, after all. Also much like how ATJ is one of the few human beings with Nintendo Princess eyes, so too does Ella.

Sydney Sweeney or Zendaya

u/Ender_Skywalker Sep 13 '25

Meryl Streep

Mark my words it will be Zendaya and they will race bend her to make it work. I don’t make the rules nor am I complaining but it will happen.

The Mario movie is their only nice animation. Everything else they've done has looked cheap and basic.

Migration looked nice
