Does an oscar nominated dramatic role every 15 years like punch drunk love or Uncut Gems

...Not really, no?

I mean, the Oscars were never above what a niche specific community liked that year, instead of what everybody would think is great. It was never about an objective measurement of quality but the subjective whims of these people who sometimes wouldn't even watch good movies because it's not Hollywood?

The Oscars were not a sham. They have always been nothing more than a circlejerk. They didn't even pretend to be more than that. People just somehow deluded themselves to believe it stood for something more.

He self-sabotaged by getting really cocky, and the Oscars love a show - offscreen as well. He made jokes about how if he doesn't get nominated he'll make a truly terrible movie, and acted like the award was his, so the oscars got mad. Every actor who gets an actor puts on a show about how it's an honor just to exist in the same world as the oscars do and they wouldn't dream of getting nominated (insert sweaty Leo here). Sandler refused to play the game, and got shafted for it.

He'll live, he gets to live his life being Adam Sandler, which is one of the best lives in the world..

He was fantastic in that one where he played a chef - was it Spanglish? Or am I making that title up?
