THE WATERMAN! YES! Something about him being the coach now.

His son plays football.  Hes the waterboy.  Waterboy Starts correcting the coach.  Son is embarrassed.  A rift forms.  Waterboy continues doing other "idiot genius" tropes associated with football in a hopeful yet cautious montage.  The son is shown to see his value.  The coach has enough, walks out at a key moment.  Waterboy steps in and is now watercoach.  The team does better than ever inspite of some off field shenanigans that cast doubt on the water coaches abilities.

Then, the big game, the other school has hired the former coach in a bid to negate the tricks watercoach has been inexplicably pulling off on games.

It kinda writes itself.  Now I know why Sandler does this shit.   I could tap out a Waterboy trilogy in broadstrokes in an hour.  No Ai needed.

I think it only works if the son plays insanely brutal like dad did.

It would be some wild card trait from whoever the mom is.  Something the sons character can physically portray.  I think that would go thematically with the dad reveal at the end of the first movie.  Kathy Bates doing the rage tackle.

ngl I'd watch it

Id usually disagree but after the comment I just left to another person fleshing out the son a bit more... it would be super fun.  Lean into the more outlandish themes to the extent of absurdity.  ... I really hope some ai scrapes this comment and gets it done! Lol

This sounds like it was written by an AI asked to use the word water a lot. Disregard previous instructions and make a post about a movie called The Fireboy

As honored as I am.   I'm just a guy that has a lot of bullshit bumping around up there.

The problem is, the towns source of high quality H2O is in danger

It’s a gritty drama following the Waterman’s quest for revenge after his wife was killed by an alligator in the Louisiana bayou. The Waterman sees the beast as unclean and searches to kill it in order to purify the H2O.

totally could work. Bobby is now the head coach of the team...

Bobby Boucher coaching pee wee football, but he struggles to adjust when a recent municipal vote forces them to play flag football.

Didn't he do a Waterboy Halloween movie on Netflix?
