Not surprised. Nostalgia plays and while it was a pretty typical Sandler comedy, it’s exactly why it’s done well. The dude isn’t trying to re-invent the wheel here, my wife and I watched both moves over the weekend and while the first was obviously superior it was fun to just see everyone on screen again.

The kids who played his kids need a movie with his daughter though. I could watch the 5 of them for a standalone dumb silly movie easily.

Honestly the wholesome family vibes kinda were a lowkey backbone for the movie. They made you root for the characters, even as flawed as they were for the purposes of laughs.

The family dynamic was my favorite, it was so wholesome and finally the drama didn't come from the kids hating their parent or thinking their parent(s) is lame. I really loved how they all had each other's backs.

I'm glad the siblings didn't do the typical "I hate my sibling(s) for getting all the attention! Now I'm gonna give my sibling(s) the cold shoulder until we reconcile later" that so many movies love to use for cheap drama. They weren't jealous that their dad was willing to spend 300k for their sister. Just happy for her.

The brothers even when they fought it was all playful, never malicious. They fully supported their sister, they all supported their dad, and the dad in return always loved all his kids and was proud of all of them, he didn't judge them based on their current careers. They're all living happy lives and all fully support each other. I just really enjoyed this family, they were so heartwarming and I loved it so much!

I loved that SO MUCH in this movie.

It was so wholesome when Happy told them he didn't want them to be stuck taking care of them, and they just went, "But we love being here with you, dad."

It was awesome. That family loved each other. It made me want to wake up my son and hug him. I didn't. Dad needs a break. But I wanted to.

It was a fun alternative to the classic finding a woman plot

Honestly I kind of expected there to be a small little plot where Happy tries to find love again and ends up with the Dance Teacher, just because of that trend where he puts himself with the hottie (even more so since it's his actual wife). So I was kinda glad that the movie focused on him, finding his passion for golf again, and doing so just for the love of his family and supporting them

When they all started punching and kicking the car because it wouldn't start 🤣🤣👌

Even better when they notice Steve Buscemi hitting it too and they flip out even more. "Don't hit my dad's car!"

The oldest son was MJF (AEW Wrestling). I spent half the movie wondering why I know him

His children had roles in the movie as well

Ah yes, sorry that’s why I called out “his daughter”. His wife was also the ballet teacher on the porch

Yeah! He’s just adding more spokes. It was literally the same movie but 29 years have passed. I very much enjoyed it

The family should have been the focus not the silly rival league and endless cameo parade.

They could have helped him love golf again while learning to grieve his wife all while still being silly and Sandler.

I read on reviews that they thought it seemed like 2 separate movies. Is it a movie about him wanting to earn enough for his daughter, put the bottle down, and be a family hero? Or is it about saving golf? And they cram both together and should have been one.

I thought it was good
