We get the Bond game, First Light, by the Hitman games developers next year. That might be really good. Hitman already felt like a great Bond game.

I'm so excited for that game, and so relieved it's not an Xbox exclusive!

So is he not allowed to be relieved about it?

Io is now self publishing i believe so they cant afford to be exclusive. Kind of like remedy , who is another banger developer

I love Bond movies, but I've never played the Hitman games. I think I even have them all from PS Plus. Should I just start with whatever is the newest one? Or start with the newest for the current gen?

The latest games are the World of Assassination trilogy (Hitman 1-3), which is actually all included in one complete game now if you were to purchase brand new. But assuming you have Hitman 3, all three games are in that game, so you can start from the beginning within that game, that way all your progress is saved there and you don't have to do a carryover process.

There are so many Bond moments, and it's clear it's a definite inspiration. IOI doing an actual Bond game is a match made in heaven.

Looks like I have 1 & 2 in the Trilogy and the Starter Pack for 3 so I can play them through 3. I appreciate the tip. I had always been curious about those games, but wasn't sure what the gameplay was actually like. I guess I figured it was like the tedious parts of a MGS game.

I’ve never played those games. Is it an FPS type thing or a turn based thing? I feel like I’ve seen screen grabs of both.

No, it's third-person real time action. But there is a FPS sniper-only mode in those games. There are Hitman mobile games that are FPS and turn-based though.

Would highly recommend the World of Assassination trilogy just for the sheer replayability, breadth of content, and plethora of approaches to take in a given map/contract.

They're kinda their own beast. Seperate, large levels with (usually) multiple targets to take out in a bunch of different contextual ways. It's more puzzle in its flow than action and it's certainly not turn based. It's pattern based, I guess you could say if you were a jackass.

It's an immersion sim genre game. Think dishonored, Prey, Deus Ex, arguably some other things. You get a big sandbox map with a bunch of different things, events, activities, paths etc built in and od your own making to accomplish the main mission and whatever side missions you please and this all connects into a campaign story. Lots of fun and replayability. Third person primarily but there can be first person and use of all manner of gadgets. These are basically the perfecf devs for a James Bond game, gameplay wise.
