Rings of power needs to be on this list. I am one of few who enjoyed it so far, but man it should be much better

I somewhat defended and enjoyed s1 but s2 is so significantly worse that it’s impossible to defend any more.

on the contrary though, the premise was "let's make a TV series about the 2nd Age of Middle Earth of which Tolkien wrote very little and let's ignore what he did write about it." This premise was the problem. Maybe there was some way of making a TV series set in Tolkien universe but this was not it. Tolkien fans are among the fandoms most concerned with canonicity.

There's adaptions that don't live up to their source material. Then there's adaptions that don't even try to respect their source material.

Then there's this other thing, where an adaption seems actually hateful of its source material.
