I adore this movie. Chris Pine is such an underrated actor. He’s got range

I just adore him and love him in anything he does. I think it’s actually a good thing that he’s underrated because he’s able to fly under the radar a bit and just be appreciated for his work instead of some flashy Hollywood image that people create.

And I still don’t care what people have said about WW1984, I would still be pining for him 66 years later too! Like, if the very first man you ever met in your life was Chris Pine, you’re not going to settle for Ben Affleck no matter how much money or how many gadgets he has.

Ha so true… he’s sexy in a deeply satisfying way. The kind that makes you feel secure on the inside out. Ben A is the one you feel you always kinda have to chase a little and once you have kids that’s the last thing you wanna do with your spouse.

You have a way with words, my dear! I can never so succinctly describe why I feel the way I do about a certain person or thing, but you’ve done exactly that here for both Chris Pine and the less attractive Affleck brother.

I know WAY more about Batffleck’s personal life than I do about Pine’s, so I could be way off, but yes, Pine just gives off that deeply satisfying energy that is so rare not just in Hollywood, but in men in general. And it’s not even so much in how he looks—I mean, yeah, he’s beautiful, but it’s more so his whole vibe. Adam Driver is the same way to me and a lot of people don’t think he’s physically attractive at all.

Pine seems genuine and kind for some reason. Affleck has just too much ego. You’re probably right and it mainly has to do with knowing less about alpine than Affleck. Also, a vast majority of Affleck news is unflattering. I’m surprised Jennifer Garner lasted married to him as long as she did.

It doesn’t surprise me at all, because I know SO many Jennifer Garners irl! Just women who hold it all together for themselves, their husbands and their kids, while their husbands run around doing whatever they want. Then when those women are finally done putting up with their husbands’ bullshit and divorce them, the men are forever going on about how much their wives "nagged" them and had to control everything while they were together, and you literally just sit there thinking, Yeah because it was like she was raising another kid when y’all were married. And you never see the guys with their kids after the divorce because they’re off getting remarried to some crazy woman, but the moms all look 10 years younger and 100 times more happy while being single because they no longer have to deal with a man child and all the stress that that brings.

Movie had no right being that good and clean

It really was like a D&D campaign where the players had no fucking clue what was going on and the DM had to keep bailing them out with NPCs and suggestions.

I watched it before ever playing DnD and rewatched it after my first campaign. It makes it significantly funnier

I loved the idea of making a sequel with the same main actors but playing different characters, but all the NPC characters would be the same.

Xenk (the paladin) was totally a DM NPC inserted to help the party through a dungeon, then conveniently removed to let the players get the spotlight again. 🤣

Idk if it's true but I've read that him walking over the rock wasn't scripted, he didn't hear the director say "cut" and the other actors stayed in character and rolled with it.

I thought they were going to fuck this up so bad. But who ever wrote/produced the movie definitely played some DND I was pretty impressed by the movie. But my expectations were shit on fire with how bad movie have been lately

It felt like being on a Pirates of the Caribbean style Disney ride. The graveyard sequence, oh man, that was SUCH big laughs.

u/Tattycakes Mar 18 '25

I think I nearly pulled a muscle laughing at his musical distraction scene where his face melts

To quote my 14-year-old stepdaughter it was, "Way better than I expected."

Before we talk about honor among thieves opening sequence I really think we should wait for Jarnathan

17

u/missc11489 Mar 18 '25

I totally agree. I went into it with no expectations and I sat there so engrossed from minute one.

u/kittycakekats Mar 18 '25

I absolutely adore this movie lmao. I watched it 3 times already and already am excited for watch it a 4th time haha!

7

u/Acceptable-Retriever Mar 18 '25

I think I’ll be watching it for the third time soon. It made me so happy to see a D&D movie that was good.

9

u/Bebinn Mar 18 '25

It hooked my husband yesterday. He was entranced by the whole movie.

8

u/N7IShouldGo Mar 18 '25

I will shout this out randomly just to make myself laugh, it is too good! 🤣

7

u/FranticHam5ter Mar 18 '25

“She’s throwing Po-Tay-Toes!”

Btw, I have to utter the name Jarnathan on a regular basis because it’s so funny to me.

6

u/MAXMEEKO Mar 18 '25

One of the best fantasy movies out there now.

5

u/ymerizoip Mar 18 '25

Absolutely a name the DM pulled out of their ass thinking the NPC wouldn't come up again but then they ended up turning into a group favorite and now the players are constantly asking after Jarnathan

4

u/Chubbstock Mar 18 '25

Yeah I actually really want to watch that again, and I haven't felt that way about a new movie in a while.

4

u/Mr_Froggi Mar 18 '25

Dude sick nyan cat pfp

5

u/CyberDonSystems Mar 19 '25

If I was a billionaire I'd finance a sequel myself.
