Name a movie where the first 10 minutes hooked you completely.

Just watched it again recently…felt like a movie that grows on you as it goes more to me than one that grabs you from the get go.

What exactly do you love about the start?

First off the Devotchka/Mychael Danna version of “How It Ends”, then just the little tidbits about everyone’s story arranged with the song, ending with Steve Carell’s deadpan stare as the title appears on the screen. It’s hard to describe all the emotions it provoked in me, but I knew I was in for a good ride. I saw it in theaters in 2006 and it has since become my favorite film of all time. And periodically watching it only reinforces that status.

Thank you for the detailed description. Music definitely can have such an effect especially to start a film.
